Check Engine Light/DIC "Engine Reduced Power"

Well, luckily the transmission doesn't have to be replaced. Service Department advisor stated that they are awaiting sensor, probably a mass air flow or coolant temp. He couldn't give me a solid answer on the type. Told him that I'm asking cause another Chevy dealership replaced the speed sensor and the pass thru harness. He stated that he doesn't know why they would replace those two since neither of those parts would cause a "Reduce Power Mode". Smh

yikes hopes this gets resolved quickly! Nothing worse than having something brand new and then not having it...

Picked up the TB May 12, 2022. Service Department stated it was fixed and good to go. Lol, they replaced speed sensor 2 and some type of harness. Anyways, issue is still occurring; reduced power/check engine light. 🥱

This go around, days before it went into limp mode, I noticed that the acceleration felt funny. Like a very fant studder/hesitation. I remember this because I was expecting it to go into limp mode then but it didn't. Fast forward a couple days, I was pulling out of the driveway onto the highway and suddenly there was a uneasy feeling hesitation of gas/power (lack of) as I pressed the gas pedal, not expecting to creep slowly into busy highway 😳. Then the love of my life showed up, Check Engine Light and Reduced Engine Power. Me and these two have had a very long journey together.

Spoken with GM Resolutions team a couple times. I relayed to the rep that the truck has been repaired 3x for the same issue and that the issue remains. Rep informed me that they will contact me later after speaking with their manager.

Wow! Do you live in a state with lemon law?
Yes, I do. Currently going through BBB Auto Line. Been in contact with them ever since the first time the TB was put in for service. It took them approx 39 days to repair it. They attempt 2x to repair it within the same service. First attempt (speed sensor replacement) failed automatic. Then they replaced some valve body and pass-through harness. Long story short, this will be the 3rd time the TB has been in for service but its been the 4th attempt. In all, the TB has been out of service for about 60+ days and still counting.

If GM agrees to Repurchase the vehicle, I'm on the fence about trying another TB. If I do end up getting another TB, I'll try my luck with a TB manufactured anywhere else but Fort Payne IN. That's where my TB was made from (build date of 2/22) and I'm not quite happy with it.

I can understand that. Usually things like this are one-offs but it would leave a bad taste in my mouth too. What motor did it have in it? My TB was built on 2/1/22.

GM Resolutions team contacted me a couple of days ago with their 2nd offer. 1st offer was a free 48K mile extended warranty and a $500 gift certificate. Turned it down and stated that I was looking more so on a Repurchase offer. GM Rep stated that she will take the offer back to her manager for his/her approval. She then called back and stated that GM is now offering a Repurchase. 🙌 They are purchasing the TB back for the orginal purchase price (minus mileage usage from purchase to when the first issue occurred, which is 1099miles), tax/title/fees, and reimbursement of any rental car fees. FYI, if you purchased the truck in a different state as orginally registered, then you may have an option of which of the two states you would like to claim it against. BBB rep was graceful enough explaining the verbiage of both TN Repurchase/Replacement and GA Repurchase/Replacement lemon law claims.

First time using BBB Auto Line and I gotta give them a high praise. GM resolutions team were also very respectful and kept in contact with me throughout the process.

If you are within your respected Lemon Law State requirements, I would highly advise to use BBB. Hope you have the same luck I had with them. They are free of charge and also, kept in contact with me.

After the repurchase is complete, I will most likely get another TB. Even though this truck has been in the shop multiple times, it still has grown on me. Wish me luck on the new TB. Lol

Glad it finally worked out and you had resolution! Get back on the horse and keep on with the TB!

No longer an owner of the TB. Sold the TB back to GM and now the loan is finally paid in full. The new redesign front end on the LT, RST, LT TB is growing on me. Back to searching for another one without paying market adjustment/markups. Until then, yall enjoy your TBs and best of luck on owning a trouble free one.

Most owners are very satisfied with their TBs. Sucks you got a bad one👎
Take care

I hear ya. I'm looking at another one Wednesday. @ MSRP with no market adjustment. Well, that's what they said on the phone, won't know until I actually get there. Lol
