I bought a 2026 Trailboss in January.
I am retired and live out of town… mostly on a lightly travled blacktop road.

Most of my travels over the last three months have been to town and back, with a few longer trips on the interstate.

I am a stickler not to tailgate as I HATE having a tailgater.

All this being said, my three month old truck has dozens of chips of paint missing down to the white. Chips in bed side, chips in door edges, many chips in the front bumper.

What the heck? I looked at my wife’s 4runner last night that is 8 months old and not a single chip.

Am I wxpecting too much for a $65k new truck?
I know the answer… just ranting.

This is rediculous.
I would NEVER recommend a GM product!

💯percent agree. Bought mine in December 2025. Had it ceramic coated and I have a chip down to the white also on the rear passenger door. My detailing shop will fix it as soon as I provide them with the touch up paint which I now have. They will have to wet sand to get it right then re-apply ceramic to the whole door.

The final paint finish is so thin it’s unbelievable. I don’t even think it’s a millimeter thick!

Agreed. I have leased and bought a lot of new trucks in my life and have never seen such poor coating performance… not even close.

i think my truck was 3-4mil thick when i last checked.
i do touch ups, coatings and corrections....GM paint is very soft, and not very thick.

a ceramic coating will do nothing for chips...only dirt. it is sad, that you would have drop another wad of $$$ to have a PPF applied to higher profile areas.
