While I have yet to install my Range disabler, I did see in the 400 page truck owners manual that there is a specific process for disconnecting the negative cable on the battery. After shutting the engine off, leave the radio on so that you know when the accessory power finally shuts down...

i personally do not run one, as i typically manual shift my rig, and it rarely goes above 9th...

I have the Range diabler installed in mine. No issues at all so far.

Anyone ever used the one from elycera? That one is a lot cheaper than the Range.

I used to use a disabler, but with having my ECM and TCM unlocked by HP Tuners, I no longer need to use a module because I simply completely disabled the DFM system with the HP Tuners software.
