Anyone use car play for music and any little thing makes it cut out briefly? Not including warnings ie. lane assist etc. so annoying.

Yep. I use car play and the system briefly cuts out after every start up. Only lasts for a couple seconds so I’m living with it.

My truck did this today a couple minutes after startup. Had an audio glitch, 3-4 cut outs in a matter of seconds. Playing mp3 audio from my phone via Android Auto and VLC Player.

After the glitch, a popup came up on the infotainment system saying that it couldn't find my wife's phone (she wasn't in the truck). Played normal after that point.

Maybe the search for phone caused the glitch? I'll report back if it happens again.

Yup. After-start cut-outs happen in any mode (AM, FM, Sirius, CarPlay bluetooth, CarPlay cable). After OTA update V654.11 a few weeks back it couldn't connect to iPhone, and after re-pairing the phone CarPlay would not start. After some combination of Infotainment reboots and truck restarts, it seems to be stabilized (phone connection and CarPlay). I read on this forum or another that if you start the truck with a signal light engaged the cut-outs won't happen (makes no sense to me). When I do this the signal sound fades, goes out, then returns. Sometimes the cut-outs don't happen but I don't know if that is just chance.

Mine went a bit whacky yesterday using the Waze app and ITunes for audio all through CarPlay. Went a different route than what Waze wanted. It glitched on remapping no reroute came up kept cycling same exit info and it forced my audio to 1/2 volume.
Ended up killing the Waze app and back to normal. So perhaps. It infotainment error but a Waze app error IDK

Yep cut outs and sometimes garbled Siri. Max cut outs, 5 in a 2min time frame.

Mine has a mind of its own. Sometimes it works perfectly ith wireless Sometimes it needs to be plugged into the phone.

Mine will cut out just for a second at the same point of my long driveway and the dirt road leading to the main road…weird as my iPhone is plugged in so I wouldn’t think there could be any interference.

A week or so ago I had the dreaded no-audio problem (no sound - radio, signal lights, etc). I had this exact problem however on both of my past Colorado ZR2s ('18, '24) once each. This time happened after plugging my trailer in (which may just be happenstance). Rebooting the infotainment system or restarting the truck has no effect. Doing a '10mm reset' (battery cable pull) or letting the truck sit (off) for ~30 minutes to allow the BCM to power things down has worked. The next restart (with trailer still plugged in) after setting for a few hours worked and it has worked fine since.

I'm new here - yes if my phone is not connected by wire it will skip and jump and cutout when in Carplay.

I am just seeing that the LT infotainment center will not recognize music folders on the USB drive. It might open the folders and jumble all the songs up into one list but it will not recognize folders on the USB drive. The base infotainment center will and the infotainment center on my 2021 AT4 would no problem. I test drove a Custom TB and it played my USB fine. I went with an LT but did not remember to test it thinking the upgrade would have everything the base I did at least. Wrong! This is a big deal to me because I have over 1600 songs in about 20 folders arranged the way I like them not how a music service wants to hand them to me. I use the USB drive to play what I want to hear especially on long drives or when it is hard to receive a Carplay signal.
Does anyone have a workaround for this problem?

How is the drive formatted? AI says this about GM systems.

The USB drive must be formatted as FAT32 or exFAT. GM systems cannot read NTFS or APFS formats.

This was the full AI write-up:

Drive Formatting: The USB drive must be formatted as FAT32 or exFAT. GM systems cannot read NTFS or APFS formats.

Folder Depth: Avoid having too many nested sub-folders. Try flattening your directory (e.g., placing the album folders directly in the root of the USB drive).

Remove Non-Media Files: Delete any hidden files (like Mac ._ files or Windows .DS_Store files) that might confuse the system index. Ensure there are no photos, docs, or hidden system folders mixed in with your music.

Wait for Indexing: When you plug the drive in, it can take several minutes for the infotainment system to scan and index all the files. Do not pull the drive out or turn the car off while the system is reading it.

I don’t mean to talk down to you, so forgive me if it seems like “mansplaining”. I have no idea of your experience level. I use my iPhone and just connect by blue tooth. I don’t know how you acquired your music, but in my music app, I can make up playlists. It also separates music by country/rock/etc. I use CarPlay and have about 4 playlists I jump around on and the infotainment center doesn’t seem to have an issue with it. My only weirdness is that it cuts out for just a second on the same part of my long driveway every time…not really so much an issue and a curiosity. If you acquired your music using something besides iTunes, which I suspect that’s what you’re saying, can you not download it into your phone library and use USB cord which makes the infotainment system mirror your iPhone?
I will try that. I very seldom use apps or do business on my phone. I will try the playlists there and see what happens. I have 35 playlists on the USB and they all played great before this version of infotainment center. That's why I stayed with the USB, it was quick and simple to use and easy to up date. I do not use iTunes after it scrambled every playlist I had on my desktop and left my with thousands of songs in one big mess - just like this infotainment center does with the USB. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try it now.
