I know most of you, myself included, have abandoned the 0W-20 viscosity recommendations. My question is, are any of you still trying to make sure that your oil is Dexos1 Gen3 certified, or Dexos R?
Lake Speed Jr (The Motor Oil Geek) recently dropped a video about how Penzoil Ultra Platinum quietly lost its Dexos' certification because it switched base oils due to the war in Iran. But he also hinted that the oil quality got worse, rather than simply not being re-certified yet.
So that has me wondering how important that Dexos certification is, especially to those of you who are running thicker oils.
FYI, I am personally running Valvoline's Extended Performance 5W-30 in my 6.2.
