Wow. Great amount of information. Thank you for all that hard work and sharing it brother.
Unfortunately, I am part of the unlucky ones that had the lifters fail outside of warranty.
I have a stock 2021 1500 TB. I’m wanting to attempt to do the DOD delete, do some other upgrades, and preventative maintenance while its taken apart. I don’t want to do more than necessary but I’m not really sure what I should look into replacing given my circumstance.
Back story, she has 130k miles and I bought it when it had 75k miles. I put a Pulsar LT on it when I got it to help avoid this as long as possible so hopefully it was a good investment

anyhow she made it this far.
Mechanic told me an showed me the failed lifter and photo of the pitted cam and advised we get a new motor because of the metal that could be in there but we could get away with doing a new cam and lifter set and flush out the engine and see how much we get out and go from there.
I definitely don’t want to spend money on resetting the clock on the lifter grenade so I figured I’d save me some money on the labor and use the money to do the delete and replace some parts as a preventative measure since there was still the possibility of metal still being in the motor after flushing it.
My plan was to do the TSP delete kit, push rods, springs, a new oil pump, and cam bearings. The overly cautious side of me wants to do everything because of the possibility of metal contamination and I don’t want to have to take her apart again later.
New gam plan option is main bearings, rods, pistons, rings, and anything that I should do now with the miles she’s got and given the fact that it’s going to already be taken apart.
What would you suggest I add or take off my laundry list?
It was my daily driver, mostly highway, and I sometimes haul a trailer so I don’t want to build it for the track or anything like that. Although if I find the ability to do some upgrades and mods that are reasonable and make sense I’d probably do it

Again, I appreciate the source of information you’ve already shared, and I’d be super thankful for any advice you’d be willing to give. Thanks!
