Upgraded from a 2018 Colorado long bed LT 4x4 with a 2" lift, bigger tires, ZR2 wheels, etc.
The 2026 is the same color as my Colorado - sterling gray, which looks great with the black accents. Basically the big brother for the little colorado.
Moved from CA to CO last year and on a AG property with plenty of space and plenty of trees and land to manage. Also tow an open car trailer with 71 Camaro pro-touring / track car - while the Colorado was perfectly capable of this, the elevation around here makes it much more of a struggle - especially when going over some of the steep passes that get up 8-9-10K+ feet. This gives me more margin, and opens up the possibility to use an enclosed trailer or maybe at some point getting a travel trailer as well.
I really didn't need anywhere the towing capabilty of this truck, let alone the Duramax version, so I stuck with gas - I know how to work on gas V8s, I do a lot of short trips in the winter with my truck, so not ideal for a diesel, plus the cost is 30% more here which negates any benefit for fuel economy difference. I do a lot of skiing in the winter, so there will be plenty of very cold weather use. Anyway - those are my reasons for gas vs. duramax - and especially when cost was $10K more it didn't make sense to me.
Not my first 3/4t - have owned and exensively towed with gen3 6.0L 2500's and a 8.1L Suburban. Also looking for a stronger and more durable overall platform.
Didn't even consider a 1/2t truck - most crew cabs are optioned with the short bed and that to me is pretty useless and shorter than the 75" bed in the Colorado.
