2026 1500 LT Trail Boss
Hi everyone. I recently traded-in my previous 2019 Chev 2500HD Z71 with the 6.6L Duramax, to a new 2026 LT Trail Boss. My 2019 HD had the standard 6.5' bed, but now have the short bed. Must admit, it parks in my garage much easier now, but I don't expect I'll miss too much, the 10" longer bed. The only two items I've added to the TB so far, is a RC hard roll-up bed cover, and the RC HD2 Alum running boards. While my 2019 2500HD was pretty much bullet proof, I'm crossing my fingers that the 5.3L won't experience any of the dreaded DFM lifter issues. I only put about 7-8K miles per year (50% is towing), so hope to get many, many years w/o any issues. Love the truck so far. A much smoother ride than the 2500HD, most likely due to not having load E tires on the TB. I got TB for the off-road capability, but don't plan on any serious wheeling. For serious wheeling, I also have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon XR that works awesome (been a serious builder of very capable Jeeps since 1994). What I love about sticking with Chevy trucks is that they've all be very reliable (This is my 5th truck since 1975).
