Hi all, not an owner yet as I am debating on buying a 2026 or wait for the 2027's to come out. Thought about the ZR2 but don't do any off-road stuff and read the Trail Boss is better for towing. Going with the LT Trail Boss with the 3.0 Duramax as I tow my 6,500lb boat to the coast which is an easy 2 hour trip one way. Currently own a 2015 Tundra with 104,000 miles and change. Love the truck but gas mileage sucks especially when towing. Kinda getting tired of stopping for gas so much when trailering.
First question is how does the Trail Boss with the diesel tow and how is mileage towing something like what I tow. Second is are there any subscriptions that are mandatory for the 2026. Not sure if true but rumor is there will be mandatory subscriptions for some things to work on the 2027's.
I have only owned Toyotas and yes have read about all the recent recalls on the Chevy's but I believe that is happening with most manufactures nowadays. Wanna sell my truck and still get some decent cash out of it before I can't.
Thanks for any input everybody.

I just bought a 2026 TB with the diesel. I have yet to do any serious towing, but out of the box, I am getting 23 - 24 mpg on the highway, and I am not a fuel-efficient driver. I run around 80 or higher pretty consistently. From the research I did before buying towing drops you into the 17-18mpg range, which isn't terrible.

If you get the diesel, look into the Open Roads app. I have it and am saving $0.40 to $1.25 per gallon on diesel.

The tb diesel gets lower mpg it sits higher...if towing alot and want better mpg get the regular silverado . ..ltz so you get the cameras everywhere and ac seats...and its not uncomfortable getting in and out of like tb...assuming your 50+yrs old like me...also the heavier your tow the lower your mpg...12-14...2500 range
