Not to hijack this thread, but is everyone using premium in their TB? I've used nothing but regular with no issues....

For the 5.3 I think regular is still fine. 6.2 has premium recommended. Top tier fuel is what I would be sure to seek out either way.

I try to make sure my 6.2 only ever drinks 93 top tier fuels (always top off at Costco whenever I pass by). Could have imagined it, but I thought I could feel the difference on the dealer's fill up with 87, but I ran regular in a Chevy 5.3 about ten years ago for 100,000 miles and never thought about it and had no issues with the motor.

Yes but for different reasons than most people. One, my truck has an aftermarket tune that calls for 91 octane or I could incur engine damage. Two, the ethanol-free fuels in my area are only available on 91 octane. And that's pretty important to me.
