Park Assist

From the homepage on the center touchscreen > settings > park assist > then either choose on, off, or on with towbar. It might not help your particular situation but worth a shot. I just leave mine on and haven’t had a problem, but I usually just have a single 2” ball on a 3” drop hitch and it doesn’t seem to bother it.

I'll have to see if I have that feature as well. I checked yesterday and only found a trailer function that checks my lights on the trailer when I am hooked up to one. I still did not try to remove the hitch to see if the camera is seeing it and intermittently turning it off.
