Range DFM/Auto stop

I bought one a couple of weeks ago for my 24 6.2. It didn't work I just sent it back. Only thing that worked was engine cut off at stop but that was sketch would almost stall sometimes do to revs dropping too low sometimes it would surge etc. Cylinders were still cutting out. I called they said they'd send another I said I don't trust it right now. Truck is 2 months old not worth the risk. Maybe later when bugs are worked out

Thanks i was def concerned about this possible situation. And also i was wondering what would happen when GM released updates that would be installed that could affect any number of ways that the on board computer processed information that could conflict with the range module

While not ACTUALLY impossible, it's ALMOST impossible. Software updates don't change hardware. The physical sensor inputs that the Range products modify are never going to change because of a software update. No matter what GM may change, they always have to work with the physical hardware they built into the truck. So that makes it nearly impossible for them to make a software change that would render any of the Range products ineffective.

Also keep in mind - Range has been offering products like this for GM vehicles for like a decade and a half now, and GM has done nothing to stop them, nor have they ever made a software change that made one of those products stop working.
