I'm sitting at my campsite having morning coffee and a guy walks up and asks for assistance. He says "We got our truck stuck. Would you help us?" Of course I said yes. I didn't know I was about to get into deep shi*t. It turns out the truck was a porta-poti poop sucker. He was there to clean them out and drop some new ones. They tried to cross a deep rut and when his rear axel dropped in he came down on his rear I-beam bumper and took all the weight off his drive wheels. He was stuck up sh*t creek without a paddle!
I gave then a shovel and had them start the digging while I got the winch ready. Fortunatly there was asphalt for me to winch from. The dirt he was on is hard pack covered with ballbearing like gravel. While trying to drag that burried bumper out, my truck was being pulled across the pavement in full lock. I had to change my angle once and sacrafice a traction board and got him out. Being a comertial vehicle I could have just told him to call a wrecker but what the hell. I have been involved in a lot of recoverys over the years but I never thought I would end up rescuing a poop sucker!
