What's new

Thanks for the invite! I just bought a 2025 trailboss does anyone have trouble closing the driver's door? Have to really slam it a couple of times.

Yep. It is annoying. Not sure about the other doors as They are used rarely.

I've noticed the same thing with mine as well. It's a new '25. I looked at the door alignment and made sure the seals were seated properly. I chalked it up to being new and tight. Closes real easy if a window is cracked to relieve cabin pressure, so I didn't think anything more of it until I saw this thread.

Let us know how it turns out.
I go in Friday at 8am . Will repost the outcome.🤞

Took it in this morning for the driver side door hard to close, technician and body shop inspected it with me being present. Body lines good, all gaps even, no dragging, so they and me agreed probably new gasket needs to break in a little bit more than the other 3 doors. They said give it 6 months. So we'll see!!

Did anyone check the rear pressure relief valve? I had that problem years ago with a car, and there is a valve designed to allow pressure relief when the doors are closed and all windows are closed. Never looked for one on my PU, never had this problem with my PU...but worth a look.

Probably, one similar to this...

Yea i thought of these vents, when my wife closed the door i could hear something click every time she closed it. I haven't removed back of seat to actually see if could watch the vents open. Can't see these from the outside like you could on earlier years. X

i do believe i mentioned these earlier...there was a TSB at one time, that some had been installed incorrectly and not allowing the cabin to vent

Thanks stormin08 I'll look into that.

I drove mine off the lot 10 days ago and noticed the door only closing well with a hard slam. I took mine to Everett Chevrolet in Benton, Arkansas where it was purchased. Service techs wouldn’t even look at it. They said it was a “Mexico 3g.” A truck made in Mexico with the first 2 of the VIN as 3G. They know there are many complaints about this and there is no fix. I have the base Silverado custom but it’s an issue on the 3Gs. This was an issue starting with 13 miles on the truck so there is an engineering problem. This service manager was supposedly on the phone with a gm field engineer for 5 hours trying to resolve. Has anyone else seen or heard of a real fix other than slamming the door ?

Try closing it like you’ve got a pair of balls. With 500 miles on my truck now it seems to close normally.

Your techs in Arkansas sound like a bunch of lazy guys who don’t want to work. I’m not sure why anyone would need to spend 5 hours on the phone with “engineering” when there’s about 20 things they could look at on the truck related to how the door closes.

It’s true that 3GC in the VIN denotes a Chevrolet truck from GM built in Mexico. I’ve owned several fullsize trucks built at GM’s Silao plant, and they have all been basically flawless. As far as I can tell there are no quality differences between the Silao, Fort Wayne, or Canadian trucks. The door seal is the first non-issue I’ve noted and it resolved itself.

Thanks for the invite! Bought a 2025 chevrolet trailboss and the driver side door is hard to close you really have to slam it a couple of times to get shut. I've never had this issue with any other chevrolet before.
Just got my 2025 last week and having the same issue. I did notice that if you close it when another door is open, I have no trouble, so seems like it’s just a really good seal?

I went in to Everett Saturday to get my wife a loaner for her car and asked them about it and they told me the same thing. Said they looked at one for like 5 hours and took the vents off of a cabin pressure thing and still did the same thing.

Sure with all the windows up I have to give it a firm push when I close a door but never think much about it.

New 2025 Silverado, also assembled in Mexico; driver door will not close completely shut unless slammed pretty hard. No issues with the other 3 doors. Assumed it was an anomaly, but apparently not. No visible obvious cause. Haven't taken it to dealer yet for repair, will give it some more use to see if it alleviates.
