The black Trail boss Photo Thread

I went black-out and chrome delete on mine as well. Only chrome left is bowtie in the wheel caps and the stupid little door button. I can get black wheel caps but that button is gonna be tough to delete. Also considering swapping the red tow hooks for black ones.
I posted this on another thread. I went with Plasti Dip on my center grill bow tie and my center caps. Worked great and an easy project. I have tried the door button yet, not sure how that will turn out.

Let me know how the plasti dip works out. Plasti dip wouldn't last a year up here with the salt they use on the roads. The factory paint on the front of my truck after 1.5 Canadian winters already looks like it's been hit by a few rounds of birdshot.

i plan to wrap mine in vinyl, it will outlive the daily use of Plastidip

I tried vinyl first. I couldn’t get the inside corners on the bow tie to lay flat and not show any chrome. I hope it works better for you and/or you have better luck. I am happy with the Plasti Dip for now and it’s cheap and easy to reapply.

I live in the Midwest of the US and we haven’t had a real winter in a couple of years.

Anyone found good quality black lug nuts. Deez Nutz, the chrome ones, have got to go. The reviews on most black lug nuts say the paint comes off very easily.

Looks phenomenal! What can you tell us about your process for detailing? Black is tough, man, and that finish looks top notch.

It is a weekend only truck, so it stays in the garage all week. That helps keep it clean. Detailing is a hobby, and I’m always trying new products. I recently did a light paint correction on it using Chemical Guys products. I was worried because it left the paint with a cloudy appearance. Yesterday I used a one step by 3D, and it came out nicely. As far as a maintenance wash, I use a foam cannon and electric power washer. I’m really liking Adam’s for my soap. Also a big fan of their graphene tire dressing. Yes, it’s a pavement princess, and I’m perfectly fine with that.

added the fuel 20x9 tactics in anthracite. Gives it a nice stance. Just enough to muddy up the sides every time you hit a puddle. Adding my topper soon.
