Im looking at new trucks now since my 2009 F-150 Lariat is about to hit 300k and things are stating to rust off the bottom.

I test drove a 2026 F-150 Tremor with the 5.0 and really liked it, but hated the tailgate so much that I went to test-drive a 2026 Silverado with the 3.0 Duramax -- loved that, tailgate, but I missed the V-8 growl. Will be checking out the 2027s with the new 5.7 as soon as they his the dealership... may still talk myself into the drama though.

One feature that is very interesting to me is the Super Cruise. Our daughter is going to school in Mississippi and that long drive from DC area down 81 would be so much better with an "autopilot."

Does anyone have any practical experience with it?

Never owned a vehicle with super-cruise, heck my 2025 Custom Trail Boss has front end collision warning and it's been disabled since the day I bought it.
Personally, I'm not looking forward to vehicles that drive themselves; scares the crap out of me. I'd like to do my own driving until teleportation becomes a thing. 😁

I get that, completely. However, I have many 13 hour drives down 81 in my future and the thought of a little help along the way, is tremendous. I mapped out the route on the Suer Cruise page and it covers 97% of the drive. Our other very regular drive is to the beaches in Delaware and it covers 75% of that. Even if it ultimately covers a fraction of that, it would be a stress reducer for sure -- assuming AI doesn't use it to kill me!

I'm just still not happy they've made moves to make so many things subscription based. I know nothing you can really do about it but it's just crazy to me that it's even a thing you have to do.

Ford is even more expensive and by all reports not nearly as good.

Yeah and from what I have read a lot of the European mfgs are the worst. Not positive but I want to say I read somewhere that even things like heated seats or things like that they had a subscription too, crazy.

Sorry to hijack your thread though. Hopefully someone can comment that has some experience with super cruise can help with your original question.

Thats insane! Next you'll have to have an "Ignition Subscription" to start your car!
