This has happened to me not once, but twice. The first time was at 27,000 miles, when the dealership replaced the valve body. Now, at 57,000 miles, I’m dealing with the same issue again.
Since this is the second time, I pushed for a full transmission replacement rather than another valve body replacement that feels like a temporary fix for an ongoing problem. I escalated the issue to GM and received a case number, but it took five weeks for GM to deny the transmission replacement.
The dealership then proceeded with another valve body replacement, which took about a week. Unfortunately, it still wasn’t working because they ran into programming issues and couldn’t get the programming to take.
Now, here we are, another three weeks later, with no resolution and no meaningful updates. I’ve tried escalating the situation through the dealership, but I’m getting nowhere. I’ve even requested a call from the service manager, but I keep being told he’s busy, and my calls and messages go unanswered.
At this point, my truck has been sitting at the dealership for weeks, and I’m still making payments on a vehicle I can’t drive. The lack of communication and accountability has been just as frustrating as the transmission issues themselves. Has anyone else dealt with something similar with GM or their dealership? How did you handle it, and what would you recommend as my next step? Would you escalate this further with GM, pursue a complaint through another channel, or look into other options?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
