Has anyone installed this latest version of a vehicle update? This came up this morning to install and I have read somewhere about some issues with updates messing things up on our trucks. Anyone have any issues with this latest software version?

I did. Haven't noticed any weird changes yet. Actually, I haven't noticed anything at all. It certainly didn't chase away the ghosts that are haunting my infotainment system.

I just did it so crossing my fingers I have no issues afterwards.

I know they've been around for a while, but it's still crazy to me that a vehicle needs software updates when it's not adding any features or anything like that.

Unfortunately you have to think of them as tablets/phones/computers on wheels. Even if no new features are added it might be for security/malware/communications ect.

My main gripe with the over the air updates is the pay to play scheme all these manufacturers are going to. Oh you want your navigation to work, fee. Seat warmers to warm, fee. Start your truck, fee. I thought we already bought the vehicle with the features specified in the packages? 🤔 Why should they be able to turn it off if I don’t have a subscription?

Next would be, as with any electronic device we’ve all had, what happens when it gets old enough it can no longer support the updates? Apple kills off devices each year it no longer supports with updates. Are these manufacturers gonna do the same?

End of rant. Apologies to @BigBlackie_'25TB for hijacking the thread.

Wow, I'm way behind on things then lol. I have never heard of having to pay a subscription for heated seats and nav and that kind of stuff. And yeah no kidding that would suck if they could just brick a vehicle because it can't take updates any more. I never really considered that could be a possibility.
