2022 Refresh Multi-Flex Tailgate Won't Open

I am looking for suggestions to get the tailgate to open. When buttons are pressed on the tailgate, remote and interior the tail lights flash but the tailgate will not release. I do not hear that solenoids click like before. The upper part will still open but not the lower. I have removed the panel from the tailgate and can manually release it but thats a nuisance every time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I saw on here a little while back someone having this issue and I think it was a fuse in the footwell. I'll see if I can find it and that would at least be a place to start.

Electronic tailgate failure

Have a 2024 TB 5.3, 20k miles…the electric tailgate was not something I was excited about, but it came with the truck. Last week I drove to Ohio and when I got to the hotel, the tailgate would not open…not by key fob, dash button, or tailgate button. I also had a dash alert of forward collision...

There is a way to lock out your tailgate by pressing and holding the touchpads on the tailgate itself for 6 or 10 seconds.

I don't think this is your issue, but might be worth looking into before you go to the dealer.

Also, your truck being a 2022 likely would have had the recall for the tailgate switch problems. Has this recall been performed?
