2024 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss has Sport Mode in a 3.0 Duramax?

I am thinking it has something to do with the size wheels. I am incline to agree with that opinion that was mentioned here earlier. I also noticed in some of the refresh reviews online that it is the 20" that include sport mode.
This truck in the video review below for the 2024 LT TB is almost identical to mine and has the same exact wheels and tires as me. Has the the Sport Mode on it. Debunks what I said earler. Again, no rhyme or reason.

Disagree that there is no 'rhyme' but certainly no good reason. Not a lot of 2024s out there yet to see the total trend, but putting together anecdotal evidence, we seem to have the following:
  • Pre 2022 - 10 speed transmission equipped trucks have it (unclear on 8 speed).
  • 2022 thru 2023 model years - if equipped with Mud Terrain tires, no sport mode (unclear on 2.7t / 8 speed). Restrictions carry thru to Sierra At4s and ZR2s.
  • 2024 model years - seem to drop the Mud Terrain tire restriction. Knew the 6.2 trucks would have it per marketing materials with the new active exhaust, but seems 5.3 trucks and the duramax will have it regardless of tires (unclear on the 2.7t / 8 speed).

Wheel size is certainly part of it - but the 20s can have either MTs (Wrangler Territory MTs) or All Terrains (think the Goodyear Trailrunner ATs). The duratracs that come on the 18 inch rims, while more of a hybrid type tire, are consider MTs at least by GM. I do not think the 20s with the Wrangler Territory come with sport mode.
Rocking 20’s and wrangler Territory…have sport mode.
