‘24 TrailBoss w/ 3L - easy build

What are your impressions now that you've been able to put some miles on them?

Have they settled much?

I like them! - they’re a lot better than the ranchos that’s for sure. The truck still feels kind of stockish, they’re softer than the bilisteins I’ve had on other trucks (6112 5140’s) - I don’t have any time on gravel roads yet, so I can’t speak to that part yet.
There’s a few bridge expansion joints on corners i drive over daily at highway speeds. With the old ranchos it was a hard bang, followed by bouncing around. With the Elkas there’s no giant bang anymore, truck feels way less jarring and I’m not bouncing around after passing over them.
I would buy them again.

Well I have had the tires and shocks on for a bit now. But I have it where I like it now for height. Just a bit lower up front than the rear. Still need to install the fender flares. winter and gravel roads in the summer murder the wheel wells!! I wish they still used oil based paint. I’ve never had paint chip as easy as this truck.

Truck and stance look good.

Did the coilovers settle much? Any chance you have your fender measurements from ground to fender, front and rear?

Do you tow much? Im interested in Elka's, I have Bilstein's on my work truck and they made a huge difference in handling while towing our trailer. Id like to get rid of the Rancho's and have been in between the bilstein's and maybe trying Elka's out.

We have a small 4x8 cargo trailer with a roof top tent on it. It’s pretty light but obviously handles it way better than it did with the ranchos.
I’ve found with the Elkas so far they’re more of a plush ride than the bilisteins. I had the 5160’ and 6112’? On an f150 and it was firm. These are awesome all around, off-road (mild off-road is all I really do) and highway city is perfect. Not jaring at all.

I have 5100's on the work truck, I do like them, but agree they are on the stiffer side. But I think thats what i like when I have the trailer on the back, its a 30' travel trailer and they eliminated a lot if not all of the bouncing that the trailer would pass on to the truck. I was just curious to see if the elks had the same effect.

Dont know about the truck but on my motorcycle ive had Elkas on it for 15years now...there great
