What's new

295-70-18 on '23 LT TB Stock Suspension (sorry in advance!)

I just mounted Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 295/70/18 and no rub in any places.
But it is VERY close to everything lock to lock. About quarter of an inch from fender liner to mudflap to UCA.
My truck is stock suspension wise but have bed rack with rooftop tent on the rear.

There's one that doesn't rub, haha! So interesting on the differences between different folks. What year is your truck SilverSilveradoTB? And thank you!

Mine is 2021.
Heres some more photos of the clearance.

It seems like we're in the same situation. I'm wanting to run 295-70-18s on a bone stock trail boss. Did you end up purchasing tires yet? If so, what did you go with?

Unfortunately nobody seems to know for sure. There is an extremely wide variety of claims out there depending on the tire or year of the Trail Boss. Some say they fit great with no rubbing and others say they rub.

I really cannot spend the money on new tires and risk having them rub. Wish I could give you a better answer!

things to consider and investigate...

1. Control arm type (even GM has variations) be mindful of needless casting ridges, that can be removed
2. Tire MANUFACTURER website, lists actual tire spec according to the IDEAL wheel width
3. Factory wheel diameter and offset
4. tire brand DESIGN and Sidewall LUG type

most of these items are generally overlooked or not expressed correctly...
numerous tires now days have 2 sidewall lug types, adding a level changes everything (think centerline of tire to body line location), ACTUAL tire size and width varies greatly, and not to forget ALIGNMENTS...just because castor and camber are set to spec degrees...the location of the components can vary sligtly based on the cam positions.

Hey all, I know this topic has been beat to death all over these forums, and I have read many of the posts on this topic. With that said, I am having a hard time getting an unequivocal answer on if 295-70-18 Tires (such as DuraTracs) will fit without rubbing on a stock 2023 LT Trail Boss. I see many folks say no rub, and other say a bit of rub, etc. Does anyone know for sure or have any updates?

I am going to buy a new 2023 LT Trail Boss next week! Stoked! But trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance and sorry for bringing this up again.
Ok, I've been following as well. I went with a 1.75" Ready Lift with the control arms yesterday. I put on MT A/T 295-70r18. 34.5" I had to go with 1/4 spacers for the aggressive side wall to clear the control arms. I have no rubbing, and did not need to do any trimming. I'm going to run it for a few days. There is about a 1/4" gap between the control arm and edge of aggressive sidewall. The Mickeys sidewall is the most aggressive IMO in the A/T with all the tires I researched.

Did you end up doing this set up , I've ordered mine dont mind the trimming just worried about the damn bar everyone talks about

I have a 2021 that has zero extra lift and no spacers. I’m running 295/70r18 Toyo R/T Trails on the factory wheels. No rub what so ever. I did however have the Fox 2.0 Coil-overs installed at the same time. This should not have affected the suspension height at all.🤙🏼
I have a 22 TB and want to do 295 70 18 did you have any issues with control arm im on the stock 2 in lift

Unless your wheels are set at a deep negative offset (out), you should not have to worry about the crash bar...the only things you should maybe need to do, would be bolt on parts that only hold the soft liner in place.

I thought the negative off set would help clear away from the crash bar not the opposite?

SOME negative offset, is a plus....say a a+6 to -12 ish will aid in clearing the FRAME RAILS, to much more...-18 to -44 or even more will make it crash into the body...those offsets increase the swing arc of the turn radius
