CEL immediately after an aftermarket exhaust was installed.

Immediately
Just to double check when I do end up plugging in the simulator it clears the code immediately on its own? or do I need to have it cleared with an OBD2 scanner ? Also does it require a drive test for it to clear ?

most codes will clear the dash light after a few start cycles. you can disconnect eh battery for about 15 mins...or disconnect and touch both cables together, you want to drain the capacitors of any power

I had an aftermarket exhaust installed and immediately my CEL came on . The code was for an exhaust flapper. I’m guessing it’s talking about the active exhaust. The problem I’m having is I can’t find the wire to plug in the simulator to clear the code .
If anyone is looking for the range technology ra 007. I have one from my 25 1500 trail boss 6.2 L just making an offer and pay for the shipping and it’s yours.

This code did not clear Immediately after installing the Exhaust valve simulator . I just disconnected the neutral side of the battery about 10 minutes to go before plugging it in again .

I reset the neutral side of the battery for now the code is gone . Hopefully it doesn’t return 🤞🏻

I initially plugged it in and it didn’t turn off the code immediately. I took the neutral off the battery and let the truck sit for 15 minutes. The light went off . Not completely convinced of my success I went to auto zone to have them test it. No CEL , however the system was still detecting an open circuit in the exhaust system. Which the Exhaust valve simulator is supposed to close the circuit simulating that the stock exhaust is still connected. So I went back under my truck at 9:15 PM EST pitch black and took the zip ties and electrical tape I had put on to protect and secure the simulator.I unplugged the simulator and replugged it back in . This time it clicked into place which I did not hear the first time but admittedly I was watching my toddler while trying to install the simulator. Hopefully the click was the simulator seating properly in the female socket. Sorry for my long winded post but this was my struggle. Hopefully this worked and this problem is in the past .

i wouldnt be overly concerned with the code showing in the computer, these day...alot of the codes will be saved in the background for historical purposes'

a Solid light ON is typically a sensor
A FLASHING light is a REAL ISSUE and needs to be addressed ASAP
