Delivery Issue

"To expedite transportation of newly-built vehicles to dealers, Carlisle said GM bought a number of car haulers to deliver them from factories or distribution centers. The automaker has also allowed dealers to pick the vehicles up themselves in some locations."

Hang in there, GM says all vehicles sitting in fields will be at the dealerships by the end of the year. They have made a big dent in the back log now.
I did read that and that’s great news! Selfish me wants this here before the end of the year so I can take advantage of that Costco 1k rebate! Ha!

Well the GM goddess has blundered again, Delivery to the dealership was been re-estimated as November 8th now. Blamed on shortage of delivery truck drivers. Bull Shit.

The message I got from my sales guy this morning: Just letting you know that your Trail Boss is still in Ohio, but looks like it was put in the holding yard waiting for a train to pick it up. One step closer!

I used to race cars for GM motorsports so I have pried open some info on my 2022 LTD;
"The vehicle is in transit to New Mexico and the ETA is on 10/29/2021 which is still subject to change. It was last seen on 10/27/2021 in Gibson , IN. "
Gibson county is Princeton where Toyota has a major plant so I guess Yota and Chevy are sharing trucks! LOL I'm in CO so NM is at least within a state from my dealer.

Get your order # or VIN and plug it into the Chevy order/build page message link upper right hand corner, pester them. You get a status message then click not satisfied or something like that and get a really human on the IM system. You'll get something telling you about it.

Unbelievable, just got a message from the dealership that my truck is out for immediate delivery. Fingers crossed, I may have it next week. The dealership will need it for a day then out for ceramic coating. Come on next week. Did learn that GM code 4300 means it’s on the way to the dealership. I will post a pic when we get it home.

CONGRATS!!!

We are at three months and the 2022 LTD 2.7 Turbo is about to arrive this week they say. Slow train from Fort Wayne,IN to Santa Rosa, NM then awaiting a car hauler from there to Alamosa,CO.

Yo! Similar delay story here. Just finally got mine on Tuesday after a horrible experience with Chevy. Timeline below, for anyone who wants peace of mind that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel.

  • 06/28 - Purchased, VIN was generated and truck was produced with an ETA of 07/17. My expectation was late August because things are whacky.
  • 09/09 - Called by the dealership and told delivery was expected 09/12.
  • 09/13 - Truck showed as delivered to customer...
  • 09/14 - Truck is in California according to Chevy
  • 09/15 - Truck is now in Marion, OH, no ETA. Yep. That was super fun; especially because I had payments due...
  • 09/27 - ETA is now mid-October per the dealership, Chevy live chat at least shows it in Marion, OH still so that's a good thing.
  • 10/10 - It's on the transport!
  • 10/11 - It's on the transport!
  • 10/12 - It's in Marion, OH...
  • 10/20 - Finally spoke to the president of the dealership, ETA is mid-November based on his expectations
  • 11/10 - Out for delivery
  • 11/17 - Finally took possession
Chevy had communication crossed multiple times and was flat-out awful. The best tip I can tell people is not to check in with Chevy for status. The dealership wants this over with just as much as you do, they'll know something the second there's an update. And don't get after the dealership, they're pretty much screwed in each of these cases.

But have hope!

Glad you got it, it was a long wait and Chevy was absolutely worthless communication wise. In the end though the truck is unbelievable nice.

Dealer called and now its on a truck hauler somewhere between Santa Rosa, NM and Alamosa, CO. YAY but not holding my breath. We are predicted to get snow Tuesday night and all day Wednesday. Autotrac will get a work out up here in the mountains.

These stories make my buying experience seem “perfect” but at the time I was pissed.
I bought / paid for mine in late Dec 2020 while it was “incoming”. Took delivery mid January. Just seems odd that I paid for a truck in 2020 and didnt see it until 2021🤣.
I’m kinda old (57) and wonder if my generation is the last to tolerate GM’s arrogance and pathetic customer service?
I really like my truck but I get treated 100% better at my wife’s Acura dealer than I do at Chevy and it’s not a $ thing because the Acura was $10k cheaper😬.

That’s good news, you should have it soon. Just expect the dealer to take longer to clean it up due to sitting in a field for months. Enjoy the truck, the wait is worth it.
