ECM reprogram/DFM delete?

Watched this video shuddering at the steps I thought I was ahead… only to realize, nope gotta drop the crossmember, then to realize I had to drop the the steering rack, ugh!
Yeah, it's somewhat of an involved process... nothing is simple like it used to be, but it is interesting to watch.
I'm just lucky that I managed to find a truck that came without it.

you still have the components inside, yours just lack the electronic functioning of it....

It's a '22 refresh; there was a chip shortage at that time.

Yeah Stormin covered it but that's what I was getting at - unless you paid off an assembly line robot or got the turbo 4, you have the DFM lifters, and that's what matters. Having the system not operating MIGHT improve your chances of not having a failure, but it doesn't completely protect you. There are countless examples of DFM-disabled trucks with broken lifters.

you dont have to, you cab get the timing setoff without dropping the pan. lots of us do it that way.
Yes, you can, if you don’t break the very delicate timing chain tensioner!
Ah, I see; makes sense.

That’s right, there’s a lot of misconceptions that if you use a DFM delete module, you’re not going to have the issues. You need to lose the lifters and block off the solenoids.
