What's new

How many miles do you have now?

How many T1 trucks have had the valve Lifter trouble? Hundreds? Thousands?
Sales of Silverado models are more than 500,000 per year, in the US alone, since and including 2019-2024.
Total sales in the US, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Columbia and Argentina in 2019-2024 are more than 3.7 million.

And mine is one of those that have had no problems whatsoever.
My 2011 didn't have any problems. And my 2007 was also 100% trouble-free.

my 2011, 2012, 2017, 2023 suv, 2023 truck.....have had zero valvetrain issues
out of the several thousand we have in fleet use, maybe a dozen have had an issue of sorts.

then i have 2 family members 2017, 2018 suv...both failed within a week of each other...both near 80K miles

21 LT 5.3 81,500 bought new with 7 miles. Regular oil changes and new Falken Wildpeak tires at 60K.

I am at 75k miles on my 21 LT TB, I bought with 900 miles on it and have had 0 issues at all. A few weeks back I had allllll of the fluids serviced at the dealership and tossed on a set of the new Nitto Terra Grappler G3s. Cant wait to put on the next 75k miles!

2022.5 3.0 with just over 30k on the odometer. No major issues. Had the hood paint issue corrected and had a DEF injector replaced after she sat for a while.

2020 5.3 with 145,000 miles. The oil was changed with Castrol full synthetic every oil change, and usually before the recommended service interval. I pulled the heads and lifters around 120K miles to do a refresh.

Now that the Trail Boss has been out for a few years, I’m curious to how many miles people have put on theirs.
Mine is ‘20 Custom with the 5.3. Almost 44,000 miles and no real issues other than recalls and a new battery. I purchased it as a Certified Pre-owned. Hoping for 100,000 plus.
156,000 miles. 2019 TB LT2 5.3. Had the trans replaced @ 86k miles under warranty <----- only work I've ever had done on it.

Change the oil every 3k miles pretty religiously.....I drive it like I stole it.

Had an engine tick since day 1....took to 4 different Chevy dealerships - they say nothing wrong....starting to believe them

2020 TB Custom 27,000 miles, no problems. Replaced Suspension and tires after 3000 miles. Only 1 long road trip so far, will keep for a while.

Seeing as I picked it up on Apr. 2 it's got 606kms on it or about 400 miles. Half that was coming home from the dealer I bought it at. 2025 LT Trail Boss.
