How to remove letters from front of grill

I KNOW they are different. I own a 21 Custom and HATE the 22 refresh Custom grille. What I was talking about are these two different types of overlays I've found on ebay.

Those overlays are for sticking over the existing letters on the 21+ Custom TB, unlike the ones from Chevy that replaces the letters. The Chevy ones are $15 more. I prefer the Chevy ones.

I actually prefer the look of these refresh Custom Trail Boss's over the LT's, and I have a pre-refresh LT too lol. Those grilles look sharp, especially with this lettering added.

Why couldn't you pop them out and paint them and then pop them back in?
That is possible. Pop out the gray ones and paint them. I chose the easier route... bought the red ones and replaced. They are only $85 or so.

I like DIY plus I have a small paint booth with a gravity feed sprayer

Did mine yesterday. Instructions say remove grill, but I used a small screwdriver to wedge in the front where tabs are located on each letter, and they popped right out. Took me a bout twenty minutes as I was being careful not to damage my grill.View attachment 5200
Did you paint the letters? I would like mine to look like that

I didn't paint, I bought the red ones from Chevrolet. They are not Red Hot color, but are the more maroon color, but I liked the contrast in the two colors.
