What's new

Long Travel & Wide body build

Kings over Bilsteins?....so y the new fenders....bigger tyres?
are you asking WHICH shock ?

those listed as well as the FOX all have something different to offer....

my opinion....
KING are known to be soft, and need additional shocks to assist the heavy wheeling
Bilstein has always been a FIRMER feel, but very nice riding...they have a very controlled and planted feel
Fox 2.5 Elites so far are my current favorite, the adjustability sells the cake ( and that is coming from a 2.65 Bilstein tuned to the truck, although a 3/4 ton)

that said, all of the above offer adjustable set ups....that is where you want to end ultimately...best of all worlds. the new Bilstein seem to get really good reviews, but as you increase in body size....most will never need that much shock, so they will never know what it is like to have adjustments.

i am leaning towards adding the SDI E-clik

I finished up the braces and all the mounting hardware. Tomorrow I’ll trim up some fine details and start prepping them for paint.

I spent the whole weekend sanding, cleaning and painting. Black epoxy primer and bed liner on the inside of the bedsides, outside of bed, and front fender lines. Black epoxy primer and a heavy coat of high build primer on the outside of the front fenders and bedsides. I'll let the high build dry and shrink all week and block sand them next weekend.

What brand of bed liner did you use? Rattle can or actual spray gun?

After 2 weeks of block sanding, a little glazing, priming, more sanding I finally got to spray the paint. I tried 3 samples and this was the best match. It’s not perfect and the flop is off, but still not bad. There’s a few runs, some trash and lots of orange peel in the clear. I’ll wet sand and buff it and maybe that will affect how the metallic and pearl looks. I’m still super happy for it being my first paint project and being done in my garage.

Seller EmblemsPlus on ebay has exact replica Z71 emblems in decal form. I thought about replacing my Z71 with the decals for a smooth look.

You should get Colorado Desert Boss decals instead of the Trail Boss ones.
