Oil catch cans

Thanks all, guess it would be save to say that as long as it's plug and play, not universal, and from a reputable company, that they are all pretty similar.

OKAY ! if this catch can regardless of brand is it a no-no for the warranty if taken in for service ?
if so then it would have to be taken off when GM is doing the service work , just like the Range RA007 .

The Magnuson-Moss warranty act states that a manufacturer cannot deny warranty coverage simply due to the presence of an aftermarket part, unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused the issue in question.

That being said, I had lifters replaced on my truck back in 2021 and I already had a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust installed. They didn't fight me on anything.

I ordered the J&L catch can this morning. maybe have it next week sometime have not got a shipping date yet maybe because its a weekend.
what was a surprise to me was no shipping charge and no taxes , just a straight out 169.00 total charge.

My dealer loves that I have one installed....they say, it should have one....but GM doesnt....
Most knowledgeable techs understand, and it is not invasive to any service work.

I put a UPR catch can and I let it roll for about 3 months or so check in and there was a good amount of oil in the can more than i expected to be honest. As long as you empty them and clean them out I dont see and have not had any issues with mine

MY J&L catch can @ 1000 miles / about 1/4 ounce ( guessing )

I have a J&L on my 6.2 as well, and it looks completely factory. The installation is very straightforward since it uses OEM connectors.

a catch can is a catch can...the use of factory quick connect fittings makes it simple to install and remove...that is what you are paying for.

you could run rubber hose and coffee can if you like....air in / air out.

again, unless we want to start testing the fluid, i would bet more is from condensation with an oily mist than oil itself. also to note....EVERY single engine does this, just a matter of how much

Just out of curiosity how long did they have your truck tied up for in the shop for lifters and did you have a third party warranty or GM? I have a 10year 100k so I’m not worried but I am curious.
