My 21 custom tb 5.3 will need an inspection sticker soon. I planned on removing the Pulsar Lt, completing the drive cycle and getting the inspection. However, someone on another platform claimed he simply turned on the DFM option on the module (which I have of course deactivated) via the steering wheel controls, and within about 100 miles the OBD 2 monitors were ready for inspection. He supposedly passed inspection without removing it. Has anyone here done this? Wonderful if it’s possible to do without removing it entirely.

I believe it will still fail. I saw elsewhere someone had the Pulsar installed and it failed some emissions checks because the computer couldn't read the modules during the test. It's best to remove it and put it back to stock for the inspection. It will save you a second trip to do it again if it does initially fail with it installed.
