Pulsar LT

I just purchased a (used) Pulsar for my 2022 6.2 TB. LTD. On Craigslist for $363.00 shipping included. Will update later in the week when I get it installed.

I installed mine at 5,000 miles roughly. At first it worked fine, had a few glitches. Sent it back for reprogramming. Re-installed 2 weeks later. Perfect for over 20,000 miles. I have the 2020 Boss with the 6.2.

After I sent it back it worked great! unfortunately, my truck was still burning oil over half quart every 900 miles. The dealer had to install a new motor at 17,339 miles. After installing the new motor, it would not pass emissions. I have the pulsar LT disconnected for now to get the emissions to pass.

My Wifes truck started doing weird crap with Pulsar. All dash lights on, stereo blasting etc and no start no crank. Push the ignition button wouldnt even kill the accessory power. Had to unhook battery to reset. Did this several times. Took Pulsar out of the equation and everything has worked fine last few months.

Well you guys definitely talked me out of installing a pulsar…the juice is not worth the squeeze!😜

I have no issues with mine. It didn't play nice with my amp power steps at first, but I pulled the negative battery cable and put it back on after everything was installed and that did the trick. All said and done, I would still buy it for the dfm disable alone. My truck didn't come with auto stop/start, so I didn't need that. They can keep that bs.

I love mine and have not had any significant problems with it.

Only during one drive the Pulsar did not turn off the DFM nor prevent the AUTO STOP. But after I turned the truck on again, the Pulsar worked fine as usual.

This unit sounds interesting! It appears to be easily removable but curious if GM can determine any normal, operating parameters have been changed during a scan for warranty issue?

I'm always cognizant of that, so if you are scheduling service, take it off ahead of time so the computer can relearn. Shouldn't be an issue.

Right, but I was wondering if even with it off and you have some powertrain or electronic issue, if they scan the truck can they tell things have been operating out of normal parameters and conclude there has been some 3rd party manipulation even though it’s not physically present at the time of diagnosis?

Like on another forum I’m on folks talk all the time about dealers being able to review data logs and detect that a piggyback tune changed historical operating parameters even though it was removed at time of service. Maybe overthinking all of this though due to my admitted unfamiliarity with the Pulsar.

most FLASH TUNERS, cause a KEY COUNT reset...that is the easiest thing for a tech to see. the Parameters of what something is doing, takes more in depth and research to see what the OE says is normal range. a piggy back interceptor generally doesnt leave an easy trace, it is more parameter review required to find.

i believe the Pulsar is an inline piggy back interceptor, is it not. i havent researched it enough as it isnt available for my model year.
