my 10 speed like the others I'm pretty sure most have coolers... the hottest I have seen my tranny is 151 degree's and that was on the baja banging through the gears in 100 degree temperature
At most I will tow a boat that maxes out around 4000, fully loaded, with the trailer. Perhaps I can make do with this 6 speed and add a nicer cooler to it. For sure, I'd rather put the money into rock sliders, bumper, winch, topper, etc., but if I get fed up enough, I might YOLO a 10L90 into this thing and be done with it. Thank you for this good info.A 10 speed would be a very expensive upgrade! I can't imagine that kind of upgrade but it would be a plus. Do you tow anything? Towing is another place the 10 speed shines. I tow a 7000 lb travel trailer. Having 10 gears to pick from going down steep grades is amazing. I can pick the perfect gear to hold it back at any speed I want and not touch the brakes.
Hill descent: When you push the button the icon shows up on the dash to show it is active, when it flashes that means it is engaged.
Also the 10 speed may have come out as a GM response to a decade of known issues with the 8 speed. If you google the 8 speed it will light up with complaints of bad transmissions over several years. They are known for hard shifting problems. Many say GM never properly stood behind them and they failed often. I love my 10 speed.
