Had a tie rod go bad after 40k miles with a Ready Lift 2.0 sst kit installed. The shop that I took it to said the previous shop cut the driver side inner tie rod when installing the kit. After getting a new inner and outer tie rod installed, my truck now throws service esc code c0051-1A. The alignment shop tried to relearn the steering wheel angle sensor but had no luck. Dealership tried as well with no luck. Said I need a new rack and pinion.
For context, my steering wasn’t straight after the first alignment. It was a tad to the left. The new alignment shop said they could straighten everything out, but the sensor is reading 37*. Also, I get 1 1/2 full crank to the left and only 1 1/4 crank to the right when turning the wheel.
Is a new rack and pinion needed or does it need to be recentered correctly?
