What's new

So is upgrading speakers not for the faint of heart in these newer trucks?

So I called to check into upgrading speakers for my new TB, and this dude went into some serious detail on how it works now and that he'd have to basically add in an Amp and interface I believe he said to start, which would allow then for him to upgrade speakers. He said that would run about 1300 bucks first.

He mentioned that if I just put speakers in they'd only be running at half strength, or half volume pretty much.

Now I admit with these new trucks I have no idea really. Does this sound about right? Just tryin to check and see others experiences... I just wanted to upgrade my system a bit since I didn't get the bose setup.
Do you have the upgraded Bose system? My wifes TB has the Bose system and it is abysmal compared to our other vehicles.....Bass is turned all the way up and it's not even close to good.

I also upgraded from non Bose system. I did JBLs in all four doors and also got some tweeters but haven't had time to install those yet. Very easy to do, the difference is phenomenal. Load AF.
As others have mentioned crutchfield hooks you up with the correct brackets and wiring needed. You will be glad you did it. The speakers that came out look like garbage cheap speakers. All paper and very light.
