What people at GM? The story from GM Authority appears to be false. If you build a truck on the Chevy website not.only is it available but is considered an upgrade and cost extra. You can also do a simple Google search and it will tell that it is not being discontinued. I'm not saying it's their most popular color but it does appear that it has been a successful color for them.
What people at GM....
One is unclassified at GM Marketing (and unclassified is not a secret document, known anyone at GM and unclassified is high level) came from my GF, I currently live with who worked with there for years
One is an unclassified at GM engine engineering...not the greatest but still high in the employee roster and has friend in all areas (my old neighbor from when I lived in Rochester Hills MI)
Hell, I have more retired and current GM friends than I do from the Federal gov't I worked for. And as noted, my GF retired from GM this last Feb after 20 some years.
Also dealer on Saturday I was at and told him I was interested in a 2500 Cypress great in Phoenix, he told me the color is not a winner; at least in this area. However, that might have become mute since last night on the GM employee/Retiree website we came across a Lakeshore Blue 2500 LTZ/TB in Redlands CA (in fact they have two identical on the lot). Also in Phoenix a White Sand ZR2. Will be checking with my local dealer today to see if either will trade. Redlands is quite a haul so not sure. (And yes, the blue is probably a loser color too.)
As for white....I live in an area were I would guess 90 or higher are white; especially with GMC trucks. I like white trucks, most of my truck and cars and my Vette have been white. This year, I need some color (or a dirty white like White Sands.
A for are they actually taking orders? I'll ask the salesman today out of curiosity. Regardless; I'm switching to a 2500 Gasser this week: No more diesel needed, but need a larger truck for the trailer I'm pulling.
