Transmission won’t shift into Drive

Dropped my truck off this afternoon at the Chevrolet dealership 2021 custom trail boss 23,738 miles. Came to a stop at a yield sign for about 30 seconds. Gave it gas and all it did was rev up. Switched through all the P R N D L and nothing for about 2-3 minutes and then it finally went in drive.

I had mine not go into reverse on Saturday. Then on the way to the dealership it dropped out of drive while under acceleration and then slam back into drive. Finally made it to the dealership and left it there. 2021 6 speed with only 27k kilometers on it. (I know right low mileage!)

Found out today they have ordered the valve body and its on back order! Lol. Go figure! At least I'm still within my drivetrain and extended warranty periods and get a rental for the time it takes for the part to come in and get fixed... Guess I will be trading it in once I get it back. So long trail boss I love you but no that much.

2nd one I have owned with issues. First one had all the harnesses and ecm replaced twice within 2 yrs! Spent more time at the dealership than driving

What kind of damage was done to the rear end would be question?

I have a 2021 Custom Trail Boss that I bought new. I have not had any issues until this morning. I drove about a mile. Put the truck in park for about 3 minutes. Then I put it in reverse backed up a few feet then put it in drive. And nothing. The shifter shifted into drive but all that happened was the engine reving up. Of course it had 65,000 miles on it and the drivetrain warranty is only 60,000. Has anyone else had this happen? Did the transmission have to be replaced? Or was it something else like a module?
I’m on day 3 waiting for mine to get diagnosed. I have 45k miles so I was lucky. Weird thing about mine is on the way to work my radio was acting weird. Like I’d press for a station and it didn’t do anything. Just froze. I do remember not shutting the door all the way the night before. People thought I was nuts for thinking the battery could keep me getting it to go forward. Seems like this day and age, even lack of blinker fluid could cause it to break down. I checked the battery. The fuses. Transmission cable. Was too afraid to do anything else that could void the warranty. It was sad seeing my baby being towed off.

I don't know but it can't be good for it. At the rate this is going (second trail boss with issues) I will be trading it in for a fricking Ford!

Ball valve was oval and changed the valve body.

Did they say if it had to have been that way from new on or what caused that to occur now?

My 2021 LT TB went into the dealer the first week of June. 5.3L w/10 spd trans. The reverse suddenly went inop (shift into reverse and it acted like it was in neutral). Forward gears worked at slow speeds, but once on the highway it shuddered and shifted hard, then the check engine light came on and it reduced power so I could only drive at approx. 35 mph. They believe it's the valve body and have one back-ordered. No ETA on the part, and no idea when they will get it repaired. I am at 36,000 miles and still under warranty, but it only covers $40/day for 10 days for a rental. Begging and borrowing vehicles from friends and family for the last month and a half to get to and from work. No public transportation where I am. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with the 10 spd?

Same issues here, 21 TB 5.3 with the 6 speed, took it to a dealer. "Cannot replicate problem" they dropped the pan to check the transmission and said there was a lot of metal in the pan and the fluid was burnt. I m at 68k miles so just out of warranty. 8500$ for a new transmission. Seeing a lot of transmission problems with these trucks around this mileage. I filed a NHTSA complaint as I was at an intersection and it stopped accelerating. Was told by 1 GM employee that they might possibly help with repairs but then when it came to my case manager, she said that was a lie lol. She told me that they only guarantee their vehicles to last as long as the warranty. Really in a great mood after that conversation

After filing a NHTSA and a BBB complaint. I was contacted by GM again and they are now offering to pay for half of the transmission replacement. Still 3600$ but far better than the 8500$ I was quoted

2021 Trail boss became stuck at stop sign in my neighborhood. Went to drive and just revved. Luckily I was able to reverse half a mile back home. Has been in shop for about a week now. Transmission Fluids were checked and replaced Was told they couldn’t replicate the issue and they seemed pretty confused up until today when it happened for them as well. I’m now being told that it is the Main Valve Body. Quoted $3399 to replace valve with TCM. 65k miles so 5,000 miles outside of my warranty. Definitely trading it in once it’s repaired.
