Winch bumper

Finished all the fab work today. Winch mount, light mounts and tow hooks done. Got the winch clutch re-clocked and figured out the mounting of the control box under the winch on the inside of the bumper. Prep and paint is next. I decided I'm going with black spray on bed liner. excited to get this done!

Put in the time and got the bumper painted and mounted today. Still need to wire the lights and winch but it looks great! The rustoleum is a nice finish but I found it needs to go on in thin coats because it loves to run.

Looks good. Super impressed with the tenacity to take on the challenge, especially since you obviously had the skills necessary to do so. Good job 👍🏻

So in the end, how much squat in the front end? Enough to make you want to lift it up a bit? Around 200# weight increase?

3/8" nose down from stock. I'm going to drive it for a few weeks and see how it goes. (y)

What about distance between the guard frame and grill/headlights... enough to get there and clean bug jizz ? Some are really tight in that area..

Good clearance. The tightest places are the sides near the fender and it sill has enough room to get a towel in there.

FINISHED! Completed the wiring for the winch and lights. The light kit I used was from Nilight and came with its own wiring harness including switch, relay, electrical connectors and spare fuses...surprising for how inexpensive it was. I mounted the switch next to the parking brake switch and it even lights up when on. Super stoked on how this whole adventure turned out. See ya on the trails!
