Looking to add a Tonneau cover to my Trail Boss... Just looking for help and opinions on the different types and manufacturers. Thank you... also, pictures would be great!

Curious on this as well. I have a '23 Custom TB on order and debating between the Bak Revolver, BakFlip, a topper/cap, or just a more basic soft roll-up. Coming from a van with lots of enclosed storage, so I'd prefer the topper/cap for the space/storage, but not so much for the aesthetics.

I just purchased my new 2022 Trail Boss LT on Friday, so far I love it! I ordered and received a trifold soft tonneau cover for it today. See the link at the bottom of this message.
It had good reviews on Amazon and it was easy to put on my TB.
I like the soft trifold style because they are so easy to remove and put on when you need to. I had my previous trifold tonneau cover for 12 years on my 2011 Silverado, I got to where I could take it off or put it in in about 3 minutes. Good luck.

I know this is probably unpopular but i bought a truxedo truxport from amazon in November of 2020, i have since taken it off and reused it on two trucks, the latest being the 2023 trail boss i just got... it works great and still looks great. also bought an oedro for my sons colorado, that one is nice too, sits a little lower

I have a soft tri fold cover; hate it. Only have access to 2/3 of your bed, and constantly catches my eye fluttering in the rear view on the highway.

Dealer screwed me out of the hard rolling cover that I was supposed to get, so although I have no experience with the hard rollers I would say they are worth consideration.

I have the Gatorefx hard trifold. I really like it. It's well built and 99% waterproof ( its gets a few drips inside). The only downside is it only folds 2/3s. I use the bed like a big trunk so that doesn't affect me much.

I've had hard flush tonneau covers and my dad has an over the bed rail fiberglass tonneau and they look nice but suck if you have anything taller than the bedside. I like toppers but again are limited if you want to carry something tall like an appliance or recliner. I've never been a fan of soft tonneaus of any kind. I bought a truck that had one on it and when that truck got totalled by an idiot, I transferred it to the next truck I bought. It was a huge pain in the ass when it was cold because it would shrink. Both the tab style and button style suck. I didn't have a lift up one. I currently have a Retrax aluminum roll up and I LOVE it. It eats up some bed space, but the 5'8" bed isn't huge to begin with and I already had a 6x12 enclosed trailer. Smaller stuff I can lock up in the bed and if I need to haul something taller, I retract it all the way and load it up. It was expensive, but I had thought up the idea for a tonneau like this when I was a kid, so it was a must have for my new truck!

I was stuck between two covers. One was the Lomax Hard Cover and the other was the BAK Revolver X4s. I decided on the X4s only because of more space it gives the bed of the truck. Although the Lomax cover takes up 1/3 of the bed when folded up, there are videos that show how easy it is to completely remove and reinstall the cover. They are both low profile but with all the videos and pictures I looked at I like the way the X4s looked on the truck better. I placed the order last night and as soon as it's installed, I will send pictures. Thank you everyone for all the replies and all your help. I really appreciate it.

I have an Access soft roll up cover and really like it. I have had several different brands of soft covers and this is my second Access. They are really well made and fit great. I took some extra time during installing to add some silicone and different weather stripping. It is now 99% waterproof. I use my truck bed a lot. The soft roll up cover is easy to open and close and is 100% out of the way giving you full bed access when needed. It does not have the same security as a hard cover but I don't keep many valuables in my bed and with the cover closed and bed locked they are out of sight. Sure someone could cut it open with a knife but they can break my cab windows too. For ease of use and access you can't beat the soft covers.

My next door neighbor has the Lomax on his RST. Very nice, low profile, and easily removable as noted. I do think the Bak Revolver X4S looks nicer on the truck, and can also be removed rather easily if needed. That is the direction I am leaning as well. Leaves the option of adding a bed rack or rail system open as well, which isn't as easily done with a tri-fold.

Do you mind sharing what Access cover you have and a pic on the TB if available? Will the tailgate still open/close without having to open the cover 1st? Aside from someone cutting it, is it "secure" with the tailgate closed, i.e. need to drop the tailgate to roll it back? Thanks!

I have the access original cover. I like it a bit better than the low profile. It provides more velcro that makes it easier ti seal and gives you just a little more height under the cover. Mine mounts inside the bed rail so you still have access to the top of rail if you wanted to mount something else. Tailgate works just fine without needing to open the cover. The cover is latched from the inside so with the Tailgate closed you can't open it.

I have the Truxedo "LoPro" soft rollup tonneau cover. The low profile is a little more money, but I wanted it because it doesn't come over the bed rails and sits a little lower, which I think looks much cleaner and less obnoxious than most tonneau covers. Keeping it off the bed rails is nice if you ever want to add bed rails or a roll bar or sport bar down the road.

I went with the Diamondback cover, very expensive but well made… Pretty straightforward install.. Mine is 100% water proof and comes with the heavy duty lock system. It’s also a trifold so very easy to put things in the bed and get them out.
