Broken Valve Spring

I had the same issue at 800 miles back in October 20'. Same issue, same bank, same bulletin. I'm now at 10600 miles and no issue at all. I did negotiate for a warranty extension to 100,000 miles, which was accepted by them with no hesitation.
I wish I came to this forum before I purchased my 1st Trailboss in Feb that had to have springs replaced less then 3000 miles. I told my dealer I didn't want a new truck that had the engine opened and put back together. They bought that truck and sold me exact replacement in April. Well that truck is at the dealer with the same problem. The Service Manager said his new truck is also in the shop with the same problem. I've contacted a Lemon Law Lawyer.

Do you have a 6.2 or 5.3?

Damn. Hope I got good valve springs on my 5.3😬

I am over the Trailboss. After 2 weeks at the Dealer, all valves replaced, drove an hour and had the same issue. Rough driving, steering wheel shaking, and Coding. Took it back to the Dealer and the mechanic said " I don't know what it could be". Since this is the 3rd time I've brought this truck in for repair with only 3500 miles they are going to lemon law the Truck. Has anyone had experience with a Lemon Law Vehicle? GM said it could take 2 months, so there goes my summer towing my boat to the lake.

Any update?
I’m wondering if they can narrow it down to certain production dates but it doesn’t look like it. As far as I know, it affects 2019-21 models. I’d like to know if most failures occur with less than 5000 miles or could happen at 30k miles😬
My 2008 Suburban 5.3 with AFM and 200K miles never had any problems.

Is this issue happening to the AFM 5.3s that are in the custom models? Or is this limited to just the newer DFM 5.3s and 6.2s? Did the previous generation v8s have this issue? I believe the AFM 5.3s with the 6 speed transmissions are carry overs from the last Gen trucks which is why I asked if that Gen trucks also had this issue. I have 4404 miles currently and have not had the issue as of yet.

You should get GM customer service involved. That usually changes the attitude from the dealership. If you plan on keeping the truck you should push for an upgraded extended warranty.

Trail Boss LT with 5.3 made 11/20

Has anyone had more than one broken valve spring on the same motor.

Reading forums, seems several people have. Get one replaced and then a few hundred miles later, another breaks. Then the "lemon law" issues arise.
