Warranty done …: and surprised to say no issues …..supercharger 🤔

I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Black friday deals going on. Added 75k miles or 60 months. Thanks for the recommendations.

I'm always the skeptic..... so please forgive me... looking at the Knapp website.... It does not appear that this is a GM Warranty despite being very cleverly branded and worded. I'm inclined to think that they could slap up BMW logos instead and call it a BMW Protection Plan.

This appears to me to be 'Safe Guard Products International LLC' selling what they are calling a "Chevrolet Protection Plan". They have branded their website and materials to make it look like this is a GM offering..... but it is not. They have a banner on the website saying "Vehicle Protection Backed by General Motors"..... what exactly does backed by GM mean? I suspect it means nothing.

I'm not suggesting that Safe Guard Products will not honor and pay warranty claims. I'm just saying that 3rd party warranty companies have a very poor track record of staying in business long-term. And, in the event that Safe Guard Products LLC goes bankrupt or closes up shop, GM or your local Chevy dealer is going to tell you to go pound sand.

I could be completely wrong here.

I've been finding that people really have obsolete impressions of how modern auto warranties work. The old model, where an actual corporation exists to back guarantees with its own money collected from premiums, isn't really utilized anymore. These products are now considered commodity and just dumped into a liability pile with hundreds of other products. In this case "Safe Guard" is the broker - they provide the marketing and sales and support front end. When they sell a GM-branded warranty, they take a commission and then the liability is dumped into an insurance fund with hundreds of other liabilities that may not even be warranties. So the old adage "warranty companies wouldn't be in business if they didn't make money" does not apply because warranty companies AREN'T in business anymore. It also explains why the B2B extended warranty for my 2021 Wrangler was half the price of the one for my Silverado, despite the Silverado being near the top of the quality and reliability scale and the Wrangler being near the bottom. The reason is because warranties aren't priced based on the estimated repair costs of the vehicle, they are priced based on the typical buyer of that vehicle. In short - Jeep buyers are not willing to spend as much money for a warranty as Silverado buyers. So the money collected for the warranty, minus Safe-Guard's commission, is then dumped into the liability fund and used for whatever payout is needed (probably to pay for a Wrangler claim).

Yes, you are completely wrong. It is a genuine GM extended warranty. I know, I've read the contract.
