Same here. I really have no issues pulling my TT. Only real problem is when a semi passing you get pulled in, but that's typical I believe or a good wind on open roads. No airbags or RAS.
Are you still on the stock Wrangler's? I've heard we need to up the psi on the tires or get E rated tires? My tires still have plenty of tread left so just wondering if it really would make a world of difference getting E rated to replace them for towing. I'm towing a 30' 5900lb dry TT.Just picked up this TT. 5200 pounds dry and 29 feet. New to towing anything this big but with the weight distribution hitch there was barely any squat and towed great! The 6.2 just keeps impressing me!
I’m bone stock right now. I’ve heard the same thing and when I need new tires I’ll be getting 10 ply E tires, but for now it seems to do fine. I’m taking the TT 2.5 hours away in a couple weeks so I’ll really be able to tell then. I’ve also heard upgrading to bilstien 5100 shocks makes a pretty big difference. As far as I can tell, and I am by no means an expert, the weight distribution hitch makes the biggest difference. Are you still on the stock Wrangler's? Most all terrain tires are E rated (in OEM tire size, at least), so there doesn’t seem to be much choice.research your tire choices, a D vs E doesnt really matter as much as LOAD Rating. the E can be a much stiffer sidewall and decrease ride comfort for no reason necessary. to many think E is better due to load...but todays tires differ from historic thoughts. it a rabbit hole much like oil.
Thanks for the info! I definitely have some homework to do now.research your tire choices, a D vs E doesnt really matter as much as LOAD Rating. the E can be a much stiffer sidewall and decrease ride comfort for no reason necessary. to many think E is better due to load...but todays tires differ from historic thoughts. it a rabbit hole much like oil.
Thats awesome. I have a 2007 30 foot tail dragging travel trailer. That's old for an RV. But it's paid for when I bought it. I will replace it with something smaller one of these days.
Thanks! We had a 28’ keystone hornet before this that was a 2003. Lots of great memories. Redid the floor and then sold it and bought This jayco 287bhsw, so around the same length but with a slide out. Weighs 6090 dry and tongue is 700. I’m running the equalizer weight distribution hitch. It’s actually a 2016 but was used once a year and covered in a barn so it’s in great condition. We have a family of 5 so the space was needed. This picture makes it look ridiculously large. We are making a trip out west next year and I’ll be adding airlift with cradles to the truck. It tows well and I’m running bilsteins to level with dirt king upper arms and 295/70r18 falken atw4s that are e rated.Thats awesome. I have a 2007 30 foot tail dragging travel trailer.
