New truck and trailer

Towed my wife's car from California to Florida a few weeks back. The truck towed great, but we got caught up in an Alabama snowstorm!

Another plus one of the Duramax with wood. I don't put logs in the trail boss. That was where I went with the Duramax for that load. There was more there .it takes a while to pick them out of the truck. But the trailer just dumps them on the ground. So I put the empty trailer behind the Trail Boss and went and got the rest.

Actually both of the logs on dump trailer were the old Duramax. This is the time I used the trail boss. Actually 1 of 2 times. This time it was pulling the dump trailer to haul logs because the Duramax was pulling the tilt deck with the tractor on it with the grapple on the front to load the logs and the chipper on the back to clean up the branches. It was a couple blown down trees. I told my friend I would help him clean it up for the wood. He has no use for firewood. And no equipment to do the work. Got that wood in the dump trailer plus some big logs in the bed of the Duramax and the front of the tilt deck. It was 2 big fir trees. The little lady drove the trail boss. And went home and dumped a load before we loaded the one in the picture. Got about 3 cords of wood out of those 2 big trees.

I’m bone stock right now. I’ve heard the same thing and when I need new tires I’ll be getting 10 ply E tires, but for now it seems to do fine. I’m taking the TT 2.5 hours away in a couple weeks so I’ll really be able to tell then. I’ve also heard upgrading to bilstien 5100 shocks makes a pretty big difference. As far as I can tell, and I am by no means an expert, the weight distribution hitch makes the biggest difference.

I went with the 5100s and it made a world of difference. Otherwise stock with the Duratracs
