What brand spacers would you recommend? I seen RC has 2 inch but I see a lot of people just do 1.5 inch with level/lift kits. Also do they change stability Or anything with a lot of highway driving?
Just curious, Did you use the specific TB 1.5” leveling kit from RC for TB? Does it effect the upper control arms and 4x4? I really want to do the same, but I have heard that the upper control arms suffer and so does 4x4. ThanksNice … I had my 1.5 RC level installed as soon as I bought my 2020 TB , I’ve had zero issues with set up and it’s been over a year now and 15K miles …
1.5 Rough County… zero issues going on a year with it…. Installed it the week after delivery ….
Love the vinyl on the hood. I’m getting either gloss or matte rally stripes on my hood, roof and tailgate of my 21 black TB soon. My 18 LT custom had similar black factory stripes and it I miss the look.1.5 Rough County… zero issues going on a year with it…. Installed it the week after delivery ….
I used the 1.5 rough country leveling kit sold for specifically the Trail Boss… 16K miles with zero issues control arm, boots are like new … I contacted RC to ask if they recommended their uppercontrol arms with this kit and they said no it was not required… now I may replace them one day for piece of mind… but very satisfied….and I used 4 auto and take is to the sand dudes with no issues … anything larger than the 1.5 my cause thoses issuesJust curious, Did you use the specific TB 1.5” leveling kit from RC for TB? Interesting…. So you got a smoother ride ?…. I completely agree changing arms is best especially if you tow since weight on the rear will raise front end even more ..I just need to stop procrastinating and decide which ones to get.I also added the 1.5" level with stock UCAs. Noticed no issues with angles after alignment. After about 5,000 miles I added the RC upper control arms (peace of mind decision). After install inspected the factory UCAs and they were a mess. The angles with the replacements are almost identical to stock with the replacements. So, I agree, you can run the 1.5 RC level with stock UCAs but I would personally recommend upgrading from the start after seeing the difference. It made a difference in my set up. (Again just what I would do after hindsight)
I hear you , just makes sense to bring it back to factory geometric angles… nice wake up call even though I have zero issues now but, it may eventually exploded on me.The angles returned to almost factory, which is how GM intended the truck to ride. So in my mind, decreases the risk for front end failure. Ride quality improved? I feel like it returned to factory handling and stability. I don't think they changed the ride smoothness +/-. Make sense?
I guess if you add UCAS at same time as the level, the only difference you will notice is the additional 1.5 front end boost. (Which was my goal, I like the stock handling and stability).
Not to mention those occasional pix we see of guys blowing UCAs after leveling.
This is good to know. I have been thinking about leveling my TB but going a different route by getting the 3.5“ RC struts to replace the stock and also going to put RC rear shocks on. I have also thought about purchasing the upgraded RC UCAs while I’m at it. I am curious what is the biggest tire with you level are you able to put on without trimming? I have read 285/65/R20 with the stock rims.I also added the 1.5" level with stock UCAs. Noticed no issues with angles after alignment.
