Muffler delete drone!

Purchased this AFE also after 20K worth of the AFE muffler delete pipe. 5.3 never sounded so good, drone at speed insane.
Took to my local muffler shop to have flapper valve (they claim it is an unnecessary valve to assist with engine warm-up) removed.
Did the install with additional pipe (the piece that comes with the muffler is too short to remove flapper).
Did a very professional install, no more "Bark" at cold start (neighbor appreciated) and no drone while driving, but still sound respectful. Thinking of doing an lbz up pipe EGR delete next to keep the airflow smooth and reduce future clogging issues.

That flapper delete really helps clean up the sound—especially paired with the AFE pipe. Glad to hear it’s got a good tone without the drone.

Oh my aching head… I did the muffler delete on my 2020 TB. It sounds great but the drone gave me a headache after an hour. Anyone done this and can point me in the right direction for a fix ? Thanks.

Yeah, muffler deletes can sound awesome until you’re stuck with that highway drone. I’d try adding a resonator first, it’s usually a pretty simple fix.

I have a 2021 without AFM (due to chip shortage), I did a muffler delete including the flapper valve. No drone whatsoever
