Trailboss lt or RST?

What was your deciding factors?
I like the way the TB handled and felt more firm. Also one key for me was i got the 6.2 over the 5.3. Almost the same gas milage and issues but man its fun! The rest was cosmetic, didn’t like all the chrome on the gmc abd didn’t care for the paint match on the rst.

LOL if you're getting the same gas mileage as the 5.3 you ain't havin much fun.

Yeah, I am not a fan of the paint match. The tb black grill looks better. Too bad the zr2 is so damn expensive.

Yes there was one when i bought mine with 3.0. But damn 86k! Ouch

Came with the 5.3 originally. Have a different setup now with a supercharger.

Hello! I'm in the market for a new truck in the next few months. I am looking at both the lt trailboss and rst. Hopefully both with a 6.2. If you guys were to do it again would you stick with the trailboss or go rst?
I just purchased a 2023 RST silverado 2,000 miles and saved 35,000 grand or got the up grade for free, the ALC invader package.
Same truck as the boss. If you plan on upgrading the suspension why pay extra for something they will just take off and replace?
I love my truck.

Not sure what it is at the four wheels. I have an LT4 installed for off-road vertical purposes mostly. Wicked fast on pavement. I actually got stop a while back by multiple popo. Accelerated to fast from a stop light. I reminded them right me a ticket for getting to 55 fast. Didn't speed just can get there really fast. I can bury the speedo. I was going to ask if they thought they could catch me with out radios. LOL

I have way more code writing than I can talk about when it comes to the ECM. I got the LT4 for next to nothing. I was over the 36 month - 36,000 miles and my good friend is a genius making $h!T work. So we said why not? All I know is my dad always said make it your own son!

In my area they will get you for exhibition of speed.

I must have missed your comment. I have looked at those types of trucks but they want almost 90k for them around here.

verify all DRIVE MODES...my 23 TB does NOT have sport. that said, ID all additional fluid coolers and features. I just detailed a 23 RST, it has slightly more features (360 camera, Max towing...) and was lower price than my TB. As much as i hate electronics...that camera option was nice. if your staying mostly on road, and not real wheeling...you dont gain anything with a trailboss. everything makes it easier to source parts, mainly suspension...way to much confusion around WHAT a TB suspension is for most people.

it is a 2" longer shock front and rear, with a 2" rear block.
My 23 TB with 6.2 does not have Sport mode either. Not super worried about it though since Banks Pedal Monster is arriving today. 😉

Best of both worlds. Bought a 2024 RST Z71 with the 5.3. Then picked up the Struts and Shocks off of a wrecked TB with 10 miles on it. Waiting on a 1 inch block for the rear as I would have swapped to on the TB to get rid of the factory rake. Right now it sits dead level. Being I had the standard Z71 Twin Tube struts and shocks I can tell you the TB MonoTubes are stiffer, but not uncomfortably so. BTW I had the 6.2 in my previous 2016 LTZ and it is a beast, but if you don’t need the power the 5.3 is plenty and doesn’t require premium as others have mentioned.

One of the biggest deciders for me is the rst's I looked at did not have 4wd lo. That is a must for me & the 2" lift is a good bonus. Also, anyone trying to talk you out of the 6.2l doesn't have one & wishes they did. The 5.3 might be adequate but if you drive a 6.2 everything else feels boring & under powered.

From a guy who has had both the 6.2 is FUN to drive, pull and just enjoy. The 5.3 is a good truck and gets me to work the fishin’ spot and just doesn’t do it as fast! Lol. Both nice trucks and I sure did love that 2020 LT TB (black on black) with performance pkg. It sounded so nice with the dealer cat back exhaust behind that 6.2. But after owning the ‘20 TB the dealer bought it Va k for $500 more than I had in the truck with 20k miles & 1 year remaining on warranty so I sold it Va k during chip shortage. Now I’m in the ‘24 with 5.3 and sure do like it.

I have a 5.3l and have never wished for the 6.2l. I had the choice when I bought my truck -drove both - and chose the 5.3. I also drove a TRX and Raptor...still choose the 5.3. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying the 6.2 isn't more powerful. It has its drawbacks, and for me, the little bit of extra power wasn't worth the drawbacks.
