What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

will get some pics in the daylight, but i did install the RC E-board side steps.

honestly, for the 1K$ price tag, i think they are far better than the AMP (right now)...
1. these are DUAL motor per side ( AMP wants 2K for that option)
2. these seem to be much quieter or softer during operation ( AMP is very clunky and harsh acting)
3. not sure what AMP uses, but these have a nice 3 Diode LED light that is flat ( not domed or large like others), i am an esthetics nut and very picky about looks from all angles, once i install those, i will grab some good pics.

i plan to drill the pinch weld to route the wiring for the lights

easy install, nice wiring and high quality feeling parts. they fit super tight to the rocker and have shims to level out the mount so the board feels flat

Replaced cabin filter
What brand/part number cabin filter did you use? I bought a Fram that is listed as being the right one for the Silverado but it is 1/2" too narrow and just slides side to side unlike the stock that fits snug.

I ordered the AC Delco filters on Amazon. i don't have a part number, just search for it on Amazon and they should come up.

Just installed 4 KC apollo lights on the chevy sports bar. turned out petty good. My inspiration is Marty McFly's Toyota on back to the future lol. Wiring was obviously a bit of a pain in the ass but ran it pretty clean. Followed the hood release cable through the firewall for the switches. Inner 2 lights are spot pattern and outer 2 are spread.
This is such a sick looking truck. Is that Chase rack or sport bar or whatever from Chevy? Or who makes it?

Yeah it's the Chevy Accessories one, which is why it has SILVERADO cut out in the side panels.

Just bought the unpainted hood scoop, from American Trucks. Now deciding all on color or two blue and black. Or carbon fiber wrap???

Installed Sealight S2 LEDs. My last upgrade for a while. Install was easier than anticipated on the low beams. High beams sucked. Dropped the wheel liner on the driver’s side and got that one installed. That bulb took about 30 minutes. Wife came out to check on me as I was starting the passenger side hi beam. She insisted she wanted to try. She reached down there, removed the cover, took out the old bulb, installed the new one, and had the dust cover back on in about 7 minutes. I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry. On a positive note, they’re probably the best bang for the buck upgrade I’ve done. Last pic was before the new bulbs.

Late post, but I had STEK DYNOshield 8 mil PPF installed about a year ago. Covered the front bumper, grille, partial hood, all fenders and doors. This stuff is amazing, and has held up to its reputation. I'm a hunter, so it has already saved my paint a time or two (no AZ pinstripes!). Adds a little extra shine too.

Just a gorgeous truck. I love the 3m roof wrap, did you do it yourself or hire it out?

Yeah, small hands/arms are a huge help here. It's a pain in the ass with man hands! Makes removing the whole grill and headlight seem more appealing when you get your arm stuck in there! I swapped my Custom's halogen stock lights for aftermarket dual projector headlights and put the LED bulbs in BEFORE installing them on the truck!

Hi all,

Wanna just put this out there for those looking into new tires. Purchased new 22.5 refresh and replaced the Oem tires (non-duratrac) pretty quickly. Was looking for a larger tire to fill the well, and with an aggressive look. Ended up being sold a set of Xlt At3's 285/60r20 E. Spent a year fighting to find a Good pressure for both ride, mileage, and seasonal temp changes. Mileage took a big hit with the weight #60 and larger foot print. Ran across the Recons and Ridge's in SL load 275/65/r20. I did own a set of RG's in 295/60r20 E several years ago on a lifted ram, so I'm familiar with the RG's. Just didn't realize Nitto fairly recently released these 275/65's in sl load. Got a trade on my Coopers and bought the RG's. For the 1/2 ton non 35's guys and non E requiring folks these are AWESOME! They come in at 34.1" filling the wheel well with no rub at lock on a non-leveled Boss. Weight is at #52 on the Ridge's but better than the prior Coopers. I'm only posting this as to maybe help, as I researched a lot more this go around (including here), and this was the exact answer I was looking for. As far as MPG hit haven't had them long enough.

Later.....

Totaled it. I hit a massive black bear at highway speeds early in the morning on my way to work. Lost control, slid through the median, across oncoming traffic and into the ditch on the other side. Curtain and seat airbags deployed. Damage to the front and drivers side. I’m highly disappointed. Still waiting for the insurance company to tell me how bad they’re going to screw me. I have a brand new lift and bilsteins in the box I’ll be selling I guess. Bummed.

Glad you’re still here to tell us about it. Sucks though. Hopefully they get it figured out quick for you.

Picked up a 2020 Custom Trailboss a few weeks ago.

Changed the oil to insure it’s fresh/good to go.

Added running boards

Added J&L catch can

Nuked the interior to get rid of smoke smell from previous owner.

Added weathertech floor mats

To do list:
Change plugs
Add K&N air filter
Replace exhaust tips-they are stock but one is a bent a bit from previous owner.
Eventually going to replace exhaust, but the mangled tip is bothering me.
Going to replace brakes/rotors

Quick question and maybe a dumb one: I have a 5.3L—what’s the official size of the factory exhaust pipe?

I’m seeing tips for different sized pipes.

Thanks
