What's new

What did you do to your Trailboss today? 🛠️

I loved the ZR2 1500 I had but wasn’t dealing with the engine issues after it started intermittently tapping. Could take these massive speed tables we have here like a champ. Can’t go over them as fast with the 2500 lol.

I’ve added a lot of things to mine I. The three short months I’ve owned it. Anything more will be waiting a while.

I put FOX 2.5 DSC front coil-overs and rear shocks and i can take it over massive speed tables like a champ as well as other bad bumps, etc.

Then I guess I'll have to add that to my wish list. Gotta get everything fixed on it first. Replaced the driver side mirror yesterday due to whistling. However, today I noticed it lags behind the passenger side mirror 2-3 seconds when opening or closing. I may be getting a new transmission also due to a whine between a couple of gears. Annnnnd the rear camera is still dark. What a pain in the ass for something that has like 3200 miles

WTF!! Thank God it is still under warranty!

Right. Got rid of a 1500 with a 6.2L because of engine issues to wind up here. Granted, I am hoping when all is said and done shes good and lasts for 20+ years. I dont intend on buying another. I have half wondered if I should leave the mirror alone because it doesnt whistle. However, It seems odd that now its so much slower folding etc.

The TB is gone, it was a great vehicle; strong engine pulled a RV well in the mountains; however, the vehicle was overloaded when towing due to the heavy front end of the RV and hitch (well over 1000 lbs). Picked up the ZR2 in Phoenix yesterday. Been a great ride here but need to head over to the ZR2 forum. Forget the ZR2 forum, ,their captia BS is just that BS. They evidently do not want members....
I have posted the dual iDash gauges and grey double pod for sale on this site. Feel they are not needed since I do not need to monitor the diesel engine.

And if there is anyone here in the Prescott Valley area, that has the 3.0L and wants 5 quarts of Mobil one 0w20 Dexos D for free, send a message and we can meet up; I have no need for it.

Sweet rig!

i would keep one of the monitors and pair with a PEDAL MONSTER...you will be much happier.

I haven’t been here for a while. Sold the first trail boss back to the dealer for a profit, smoked a huge black bear with my second TB and totaled it. Managed to find a low mileage ‘21 in my favorite color in November of ‘24. All the usual mods, Pulsar LT, Cold Air Intakes CAI, oil catch can, AWE 0FG exhaust, custom sound system with under seat box with a pair of 12” woofers and two amps behind the rear seat, mudflap delete. And finally this past weekend i was able to install the readylift 2.0 with bilstein 5100’s and got some 285/75-18 tires on stick wheels with 2” BORA spacers. I am extremely happy with the look and feel of the suspension. No rubbing with this setup, however the rear mudflap brackets are gone and the fender liners are tucked as far as they’ll go.

Why not the lockers and cameras are a must have that the trailboss definitely needs
That is very true! I do wish the TB would have the Eaton ELocker system. That would make the TB be more of a true off-roader right from the gate. The main reason for my decision is based more on the cost and the shock setup that the ZR2 has installed. I believe the Multimatics are fairly good off- road and excellent on- road. However, I believe FOX or Kings, for example, will put the Multimatics on the back burner when it comes who is the best when it comes to better suspension systems, especially when it comes to off- road (I am running FOX 2.5 DSC Front Coil-over and Rear DSC shocks). Anyhow, I do absolutely agree that the lockers and the additional camera views on the ZR2 are a definite advantage. I just don't see the increased cost meeting the value of a ZR2 over a TB, but if I was a millionaire, my opinion may change more toward the ZR2. HAHA!

Agreed cost for cameras and lockers is a bit much...

I still definitely wish our TB's had the manual lockers! That would definitely be great!
