2023 ordering information

Makes no sense because steps is something that gets installed at the dealership NOT at the factory.
So you going to tell me it makes no sense, when I was sitting right in front of the computer when we built the truck. as soon as he put in S6L Assist Steps it popped up red and said currently not Available remove to proceed. you couldn't even submit the order. I don't know if you ever had a truck built but all of your LPO'S are shipped from the factory and the Dealer installs them. Assist Step are consider a LPO when you custom order.
Sure you can get them from the dealer but you still have to order them and they are backordered. Do your research before you comment on something you have no idea what you're talking about.

Trailbossman, just curious, did you go with a different set of assist steps or did you have the dealership order the S6L's through the parts deparment after the truck was ordered ? Reason im asking is because the day i picked up my truck, the salesman ordered the S6L's for me through the parts department and of course they are backordered which is what i expected. I asked if they thought it would be about 4 to 6 months and he said oh no, about a month or 2. Im a bulldog for my customers when it comes to getting accesories. Well, at the 2 month mark i called and left a message asking if he heard anything. He just responded with an email saying when he is notified by the parts department that they are in, he will call to set up installation. More like a Shih Tzu than a Bulldog. Personally, i firmly believed it would be 4 to 6 months and not the month or 2 he stated.

This must be your first brand new truck.

I have years of experience, have had 10+ trucks in the past 2 years.

I said it doesn’t make SENSE as the assisted steps DO NOT get installed at the factory.

They get installed at the dealership just like trucks don’t even come with the regular wheels use transport. In case you didn’t know.

DO NOT twist my words.

Order a few more trucks to get yourself experience with the process.

NO, it's not my first brand new truck. And it's not the first time ordering one.

WELL it definitely seems as if it was your first time.
You have LEARNED something NOW.

You’re welcome.

So...

My order for a 2023 Trail Boss (that I placed back in October) included the 6.2L engine.
There are currently two new 2023 Trail Boss' for sale at my dealership. However, I noticed that they are 5.3L engines.

A couple things...
I would guess that my dealership is of reasonable size for this area. Therefore, I would think that Chevy will allocate some 6.2L TBs to my dealership.
And I speculate that my order won't be accepted/built until Chevy DOES allocate a 6.2L to my dealership...yes?

Back in October, the dealership did say that they felt it would be 6-8 months before I'd see the truck.
But I would at least like to see the order be accepted. :)

Your exactly right. Will not be accepted until they are allocated not only a 6.2L BUT also optioned out the way you want it.

I ordered a Yukon Denali Duramax late Dec 2022. Dealer said 6-9 months before I see it. Got notified yesterday that the order has been accepted. Dealer estimates 2 months to take delivery.

You say "BUT also optioned out the way you want it."
How do I mitigate this? Will my dealership let me know that I may need to adjust my order to get Chevy to accept my order?
Or, if anyone else can tell me how I make sure that my order gets accepted, I appreciate!

Jmzvet...
Happy for you. And a bit jealous. LOL!

Don’t be too jealous. I have to pick it up 1000 miles from home🤣

Yeah, thats the pain in the ass with this entire constraint issue. All it takes is something simple as assist steps to hold you back. You may want to talk to your dealer and let him know you are willing to make adjustments. When i was going through the order process, my salesman called me to say they had a refresh 22 allocated with a 5.3 BUT i would have to get rid of the convience package 2. That was 4 months of waiting already. I wasnt willing to do that and actualy added LT premium package and wait it out. I decided to keep my eyes open and check daily on the chevy site with in a 200 mile radius to see if i could find one exactly the way i wanted. Fortunatly i did, minus the assist steps i wanted. And the dealer was only 60 miles away. I ordered my assist steps the day i bought my truck through the dealer and they took 4 months to come in. They were back ordered. The dealer i was trying to originally order through, called me a month later to see if i was still interested because they finaly were allocated what i wanted. I gave them the bad news about already finding what i wanted elsewhere. That was 10 months from when i first ordered. With what these trucks cost these days and all the waiting you have done so far, i dont think i would want to change anything. I would wait it out or do what i did and check for exactly what you want on the web site for the mileage your willing to travel. Thing is though, something may show in transit but already be sold. I guess i just got lucky mine was still available. They wouldnt take a deposit on it or hold it but they did call when the carrier pulled in the lot with it on it. Then it was a race to get there before somebody else did.
