2023 ordering information

I went through 3 dealers and 4 months of BS. I finally went to my build process on line and at the end "view inventory" for my zip code.
Found exactly what I wanted. Still in "transit". Called the dealership and put the deposit on it. Done with the ordering crap and having a favorite dealer anymore. Look every time I slip into the garage and say "Love my TrailBoss !".

Sand dune metalic

Well...SH!T...
I don't care much for any of the other colors. I could settle if the truck were just $20,000 or something. But not taking just any color on a $70,000 truck.
I will go read.
Bummer...

PennStateLarry...

Yes, I see what you're referring to. I didn't read that far into the article before - as I didn't care that Northsky Blue Metallic was going away.

As far as Sand Dune Metallic, here is the exact line from the article: "has been no longer available to order since December 2022"

If my order was placed in October (even though not yet accepted by Chevy), am I perhaps grandfathered in for the color??

They won’t honor the color you choose unless the order was accepted and had a TPW set. You will need to select a new color.

Thanks!
I have pinged my dealership guy.

I switched from Tundra to Silverado due to Toyota difficulties with getting what I want.
Maybe I need to start looking at F-150 and Ram. ...just in case I need to switch again. :)

My sales guy's reply when I pinged him on the article regarding no more Sand Dune Metallic orders:

"my manager let me know that your order should be fine for the moment unless it says they can't do it.
it would update him before anything".

Not sure how to take that. :)

I'm going to put more direct questions to any of you to speak to...PLEASE.
I think many of you are much more familiar with the drill of ordering a truck and what to expect.

I built & placed my order for a 2023 Trail Boss at the dealership in October.
- Is it reasonable for the Status to be 1100 five months later?
- Is it also reasonable that my dealership wouldn't be able to get any more info behind why the Status is still 1100?
- And if they cannot get any more info from Chevy, is it reasonable to expect that my dealership guys should have a pretty good hunch as to what I may need to adjust on my order to get the order accepted by Chevy?

I have had a number of people (friends & family) ask about the truck I ordered - to which I have to reply "nothing yet".
Hearing their comments/feedback makes me think that they may be right. ...that I should have movement by now.

Guys on here... What is your gut instinct? Is it absolutely possible that it would take longer than five months for my order to be accepted by Chevy and built.

It absolutley can take longer that 5 months. Experienced it myself. When i was trying to order, i started in February of 2022. The dealer couldnt even place the order until middle of June when they were told they can place orders for all sold units. It wasnt until November 2022 they called and asked if i was still interested because they finally received an allocation for what i wanted, equiped the way i wanted. Unfortunaley for them, it was 1 month to late as i found exactly what i wanted in transit to another dealer and it was available. So much going against the consumer in this climate. Between constraints of certain items and packages, plus the fact they are building less units of what they announced, it makes it tough to get what you exactly want. Another thing you should know about, is the dealer itself. Say they sold 50 of the TrailBoss in 2019, were allocated 60 and had 10 left over or dealer swapped those 10 out for different models that sold better for them, another dealer 50 miles away sold 100 out of 100 alocated and swapped to get more in and ended selling 110, 10 more than allocation, that dealer is getting the allocations before your dealer.

Interesting...
I can tell you that I didn't hear about the 1100 status from my sales guy until kinda recently. I wonder now if my dealership perhaps wasn't able to officially submit the order in October. I figured my order had been in 1100 status for five months. But maybe the 1100 status is movement. ...albeit slow/small movement. :)
Maybe it was in some lesser status for four months.
My dealership is good for my city, but there are larger Chevy dealerships within 50 miles. So, what you say about that might be true for my dealership.

Not awful. I'm in Iowa. There is also a used one here in Iowa that I stumbled upon.

The 6.2L is few and far between it seems.
But yes, that one is my color. ...which they have stopped taking orders for btw.
5.3L is okay I guess.

Might do some inventory searches in metropolitan areas that you can fly direct to. Little more legwork on your part but hop on a plane and drive back in a new truck.
