It's not a matter of keeping a cool head. It's a matter of seconds, not minutes. That's why EMS has lights and sirens to go fast.

Ever notice that EMS doesn't go 115mph? Ambulances, fire trucks, rescue vehicles...they drive roughly the speed limit, maybe 10-over like most normal humans. The reason is exactly the one I posted above.

You really should stop using terms like "Common sense" and "normal humans." They're very subjective, and rarely hold up to scrutiny. For example, ambulances and fire engines are allowed to go no higher than 20 over the posted speed limit. Police vehicles, including trucks and SUVs, are a different story in the correct scenarios. Going back to the states with 80 & 85 mph speed limits, EMS will see 100+ if the vehicle permits it.

This isn't true actually...it varies by state. In my state, they don't actually have a limit. Some states it's 10mph over, some states it's 20mph over. But you'll note I didn't say they "can't" go 115mph...I said they "don't". It is incredibly unlikely you will ever see an ambulance exceed 100mph or even get close to it.

So yeah...COMMON SENSE for NORMAL HUMANS. I stand by that.
